Adopting a child

Hi
I am proud mummy to two gorgeous little boys, who came to us when the youngest was only 11 months old. I have a high BMI, and it was never even mentioned throught the whole process. But I had a fantastic GP who was a wonderful support and gave me a glowing medical report,so that may have helped.
I'm more than happy to talk via PM if I can help anyone. Adoption is the best thing we've ever done, and I am so proud of my sons, they are my world x

Thanks SkintMama,
It can be so depressing to be constantly discriminated against because of the weight problem which in itself is bad enough. I only wish it were due to overeating or eating the wrong food but I have a perfectly normal healthy diet. We rarely eat processed foods as both enjoy cooking with good quality fresh food. We will not qualify for IVF because of the weight but I can come to terms with that if we can just become parents.
Thank you all so much for your lovely stories and I can tell how very special these children are to you all.. I think perhaps adoptive parents appreciate their children that bit more because they have had to go through so much to have them. I think sometimes when women become pregnant so easily they're maybe not quite so aware of just how incredible a miracle a child is. I know from many of my friends with children that although they love their child as much as anyone can the ones that fell pregnant easily just lack that little bit of something that I think you can only get when it has been a struggle to become parents.0
