Hey Lula, that sucks about the cambelt but at least it's out of the way now.

Good one on giving blood too, I haven't managed to for about 3yrs now with being overseas etc etc

Yeah, knew it was coming but was hoping dad would pay so hadnt saved up for it

Hoping the blood thing will get my karma back on track & also got a sticker for the front door which might deter certain religious types from hassling me ;). I think donation should be an opt-out system such as they have in Holland, they have some good ideas over there.

Well done Lula :T I've got an appointment in a fortnight. Strangely looking forward to it, I like to know I've done my bit even though I hate needles :o

Glad you're feeling better Sarah. I lurve chocolate oranges. Had one the other week with plans to just eat a couple of slices each evening :rotfl: It disappeared in a couple of hours...

Might have to check out that programme makeup, I love things like that. With you though, I'd go nuts! I am a bit addicted to that 'Don't tell the bride' programme and it sounds quite similar. Blokes get the money and arrange the wedding they want, most often the complete opposite of what their partner wants. I mean one bloke chose the Aston Villa colours for his wedding and had the rings carried on an official Aston Villa cushion :eek: I often wonder how long these marriages last...

Hiya All, just like to say good on you Lula for giving blood, my sis is a nurse and she's forever going on how low the blood bank is, I'm aneamic so I'm exscused giving blood, I also can't stand needles, but I did go once and try to give blood, and it's a shame about your car especially at this time of the year.
I've had a crap week at work, and after several drinks have decided if I don't get the help I was promised tomorrow I'm going to kick off, in a constructive way, but everyone will know I'm seriously p****d off.
I've just been thinking why don't I do the freebies more, there's times I can be a bit thick.

I used to be really good about giving blood, but every appt they've sent me recently clashes with plans I already have. I should check out their website and shall do so now.

Am now watching Confessions of a Traffic Warden and it is truly shocking how rude and racist and offensive people are when they are dealing with traffic wardens..... just don't park on a double yellow and what the hell are you doing driving a car into Soho anyway?!

One of them has just arrived from Nepal and has this idealistic vision of England and thinks the country is full of courteous and generous people. He is finding out very quickly that this isn't the case........as you especially see working as a traffic warden
I've got my own flat :j:j

Now I have to pay the bills

And feed my interiors addiction ;)

Gosh, sounds like work is a nightmare, eco. I don't think there's any harm in raising your concerns, if you do it in a constructive way, like you say.

Is anybody watching the Children in Need concert? Gary just introduced the song and said 'This one's for you Dad' and looked on the verge of tears. Big hugs Gary!

The biggest problem I find is that they don't advertise when they're coming to my uni/town so I'll be wandering past, either hungover or manically busy or haven't eaten for 24hrs and the trucks will be outside. I'm in no fit state to donate but really want to... even 48hrs notice would be enough.

They come to my work, so I usually try and find out when they're going to be there, the hardest part is getting an appointment! It's really convenient though. I think I'd find it harder if I had to make a special journey or something for it.

  • I have never given blood, they will only come to my work if they get enough people to sign up first and they never do.

Had a read earlier of the referral thread about quidco, someone put on there that that have been waiting for their RAC cashback for a year! I have been waiting for mine for 5 months and was hoping to get it this month, think I might have to accept it's not coming this year. Am annoyed as it was £70. Has anyone else noticed they have stopped letting you know what month it's going to be paid? That's really annoying as it means that you don't know when to raise a ticket.
