I pretty much guarantee that the result will be spending less time with him, as in none.
So what you are saying is that a woman you like wanted to spend time with you so much that she agreed to sit through the world's most boring activity and now you are not going to see her again

No it was her idea to go. I'm working away at the moment & it's just short of 2 hours drive each way so I was actually going to give it a miss, let my dad & brother have the tickets & get on with my OU stuff but she talked me in to it.
I'm sure we've all been invited to things we weren't into & personally I either try & make the best of it or if I really don't think I could do that I politely decline. I've never actually seen an adult go on the way she did last night. It wasn't far off that TV advert where a woman throws a tantrum on the supermarket floor.
Oh & shopping is the worlds most boring activity. Shopping for food & clothes that you actualy need is a necessary evil. Why would anyone try to turn it into a leisure activity?

Why would anyone want to see a football match? the theme tune to match of the day sends me to sleep, it's boring beyond belief.
Sarah I was reading another thread and someone on there puts there money in an account that they need to go into the bank and give notice to draw out, would this be better for you to stop the temptation, I considered it till I realise I only go to town on a Saturday when I can be bothered, so would spend the money before it ever saw the bank.0 -
Bowski, so sorry to hear about your car! Do you believe in karma? if you do you could always comfort yourself by imagining bad things happening to those who did it - the feet that touched you car falling off in an improbable incident of gangreen etc
Sarah - random thoughts on your new plan:

click on the Look Inside button to get a sample chapter - I spent a good part of this morning reading it and it was really useful, I have shopaholic tendancies and I think reading the scary survey of womens emotional relationship with money might actually help with it all.
How about listing your books on Green Metropolis and instead of withdrawing the money as they sell, leave it in there for when you fancy a new book?
Dont be so hard on yourself for past mistakes, and dont be too tight with the budget, it will only make you rebel against the new plan and go on spending sprees - you have to be kind to yourself
Have you thought about a flat rather than a house? They are cheaper, so you can save a smaller deposit, pay less stamp duty etc and be in your own place a bit sooner.
Good Luck!
I tried on a dress last night for Saturday, and the zip broke, so at 11 o'clock I'm stuck half in and half out of a dress, which I then had to cut myself out off, so now tonight I have the fun task of removing whats left of the old zip and putting in a new concealed zip, which I have no idea if I'm good enough at sowing to do. And the worst bit is, to pay for it I had to turn my sealed pot upside down and use a knife to wiggle the coins out because its 3 days till pay day and all I had left to my name was a fiver for bingo on Thursday. This was the point at which I realisesd I'm an idiot - an utter and total idiot, Bridget Jones style. What kind of adult gets to the end of the month and cant afford £4.29 for a zip that they only need because they were stupid enough to buy a dress even after the zip was a bit dodgy in the changing room? Idiot!
Sorry for the huge post and the typos, needed to rant!Debt free date - 4th December 2008 :j0 -

Thanks for the link, am having a look now. I have thought about a flat, I do really want a house though, would rather have a small house than a big flat. I will have to wait and see how everything pans out, as the main thing is to just get out of here and have my own home.
I am going to try to be really tight with the budget at first and see what happens, if any sprees come along I will have to have a rethink, I am hoping that just not looking at anything will be the way to go.This was the point at which I realisesd I'm an idiot - an utter and total idiot, Bridget Jones style. You're right, shopping for food and clothes you need is not much fun. However, shopping for things you don't need but just want is great fun. That's why it's a leisure activity.;)Pay/save £20k in 2010 £5888.75/£20,000June Mini target 0/5lbs Total 23/40Ebay profit 2010: March £207:) April £95:) May £130:) June £0 Total £432:j0 -

I totally agree with you about match of the day, and any other football on TV. I think its duller than the dullest dullard in dullsville.
A live game is a different thing altogether though, a bit like going to a live concert, its as much about the atmosphere, the banter with the people you go with & the new people who you see there as it is about the game itself.0 -
Thanks Sarah, have calmed down now, I think i only got so stressy bacause there is one particular person I want to impress, and with my sowing skills, I'm a bit concerned that the back of my dress will end up looking like a victim of slash and burn agriculture!
I know what you mean about the house though, and if you can manage it, its better to go with what you really want and not settle for second bestDebt free date - 4th December 2008 :j0 -
eco, I love going to footie games (although it always seems to be to watch Scotland lose), tis lots of fun honest! but while sympathising with SBC as she did behave badly it's also really sweet that she wanted to see you enough to go in the first place. Maybe she was too busy trying to look pretty for you to think about dressing for spending a couple of hours outside in the cold...Mortgage OP 2025 £7050/7000Mortgage OP 2024 £7700/7000

Good luck CaroleM with your dress repairs. Perhaps even if it doesn't work out right it'll look fabulously distressed??!! And anway who cares what you look like from the back! Your fabulous smile should be all they're looking at!!
I've got a subscription to Olive magazine (cookery) it is pretty good but I only got it for the 3 for £1 deal and then forgot to cancel (:o) but make up for my lack of MSE skills, it turned up with a free diary for next year so will save me splashing out on one for next year!! :j It is quite cute too, stripy with recipes inside!
I'm watching gossip girl while writing this which is making me consider platinum blonde a la Jenny and a boyfriend like Chuck Bass.......
And now Serena has turned up in a gorgeous top which I WANT.....I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills
And feed my interiors addiction
