Single and in Debt Part 3- The problem of surplus and excess women

I know what you mean Lula, I'd hate to make such a big mistake selling the house then not liking boat life, it's nice to get carried away on a dream, trying not to tho.
Nearly finished the kitchen now, just got a few bits to tidy up, decided the clock wouldn't look right, so I already had some tile paint and am going to paint the current one to save buying one, if it looks rubbish will buy one.0 -
Hey Eco,
Sounds like a great plan. How exciting as well, so good to have something to aim for!
My parents have a share in a narrow boat and I spent a week on it last year with them and loved the relaxation side of it - obviously though a hol is different to the permanent living side.
However we did see quite a few boats that folks lived on and they seemed to use the bit of land beside the mooring for gardening and the like.
I'm now struggling big time. I've still not exchanged and this is stressing me out. I expected to complete over a month ago so these delays are killing me.
The biggest problem I have is that next week there is very likely going to be starting a major project at work that I will probably have to call Makeups Project Stress (sorry for the copyright infringement Lula)
I really really don't want to have to deal with personal stress and work stress at the same time. I need to have my head clear for work and so I need to be in my new flat by the 20th....I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills

Hello again,
makeup - you must be so frustrated with all the delays, are you all packed & ready to go & slowly having to retrieve bits & pieces due to the delayI really hope it all happens very very soon for you.
I think everyone has a Project Stress at some point in their career so please feel free to use that terminology at will. I truly empathise about only having head space for one stress category at a time - when it all gets too much that's when I start to feel the anxiety levels rise & am now very aware that not managing the different areas of my life can lead to the downward spiral that ends in depression.
Do make sure you call on your family & friends ( that means we virtual ones too) for any support or ranting needs
Eco, I am in awe at your tenacity in doing up your home, I've not done a thing since I finished painting my room. As makeup said, mnay boats on riverside or rural moorings tend to use the land next to theri moorig as a garden. Certainly all along the canal here the residential moorings all have gardens - some even with sheds. I cold never afford the Dutch barge type of boat that I want although it is possible to import them for about half the price they cost her, although it would probably need some work. I know someone who has done this & am going to be viewing the finished item soon so will take pics & I'm sure they would be happy to offer any advice or tips. They are truly awesome vessels, hugely spacious without appearing bulky & sitting in the wheel house is like being in a conservatory, we were watching Kingfishers & Kites last time I went there
I've pulled amuscle or dislodged something in my back today & it's been very deblitating . I am just not losing weight in spite of having changed my diet - as far exercise is concerned, it's either too hot or I'm too tired or cant fit it in around DD. I feel uncomfortable & cross but refuse to go to any type of diet group & now recognise that what I need is to get back to using a gym 3 times a week. Near work there is one with a pool that DD would love so I'm going to investigate membership costs & if I can get the debt cleared by the end of the year I would love to have that as my goal/treat for when I become debt free.
I need bed again so night night & SARAH, BOWSKI, SHOE GAL & all you other SAIDers we miss you & hope you're all ok :A
night night

Well fellow SAID'ers I'm finally there.
I'm now in my last night in my flat and surrounded by boxes and of course all the bits and bobs that won't fit in the boxes.
After much faffing I exchanged yesterday and I've an appointment at 12noon tomorrow to pick up my keys :j:beer::j
One of my friends has taken the day off work to come and help me move and then my folks are down on Saturday wiht all the stuff out of their loft.
Then we are visiting my friend on Sunday who is giving me lots of old furniture that they no longer need.
Finally I have Monday off to try and start sorting it all out.
I'm so excited and can't believe that this day is almost here.
Thank you for all your support and good wishes along the way!
Much love xxI've got my own flat :j:j

Am more or less in. Still quite a bit of stuff in my old flat and plenty of cleaning to do but I'm going to spend the night there! :j
I'm still at the old flat right now though as new phone line not installed til 28th and then will get broadband after that!!
So if I'm not in for a while that is why!
Thanks for all the messages and Eco, I've got my Laura Ashley wallpaper all set to go.
In true MSE style I bought it in the sale for £10 per roll instead of £27 and paid for it via paypal so used my earnings from surveys and ebay :money:I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills

Aaah congratulations Makeup, glad it's all finally happened! The size of a glory hole in an open pit should not be greater than the cross-section of the haul trucks that dump into it. Otherwise, you are bound to lose a truck, sooner or later. Source: Sergio Cha
I'm sorry for the demon I've become but you should be sorry for the angel you are not.0
