Thanks sarah :A I do allow myself treats - but somehow today I just really missed the days when I would wander around town and just buy whatever I fancied
I know I wasn't actually 'buying' the stuff, it was all on credit - I have always had champagne tastes and beer money

Grrr! I had 16 items up on ebay which ended today and I have only sold four of them . I was relying on some of that money for my car:mad: The car will have to go on the cc. Not happy.
Have put a few more up so I now have 20 things listed, I need them to sell so I can get on with the next lot.
I am beginning to realise that clothes are going to sell for a lot less than I paid for them . Am going to have to accept that at least I am getting a little money and getting lots of decluttering done.
Tomorrow I am going to have another huge declutter of my room, I have let things slip and I always feel better when things are neat and tidy. Need to get on with washing, tidying, throwing out and storing. Hopefully I will unearth a few more things which I can sell.:)Pay/save £20k in 2010 £5888.75/£20,000June Mini target 0/5lbs Total 23/40Ebay profit 2010: March £207:) April £95:) May £130:) June £0 Total £432:j0 -

I know! Grrrrr! I went to the shops last weekend after months of denying myself a look round, I avoided the clothes as I want to get rid of the ones I actually own first:) and ended up spending around £20, but it was £20 I didn't need to spend.:o
I miss buying what I want and am looking froward to being able to do that again using my own money this time.:D I will keep one cc for emergencies but I have begun to realise I need to cut off every other source of funding except my own bank account or I just end up buying rubbish because I can. I thing cash only is the way forward.:(Pay/save £20k in 2010 £5888.75/£20,000June Mini target 0/5lbs Total 23/40Ebay profit 2010: March £207:) April £95:) May £130:) June £0 Total £432:j0 -

Happy decorating lady! Apart from last month I have been sticking to a budget quite well this year. I use my budget calculator and divide whatever I have left up by 4 or 5 weeks, draw it out once a week and try to make it last. Not saying it always works as some weeks there's more happening than others but at least then I can choose to offset the expense of a busy week off with some money from another one and I know where I'm at. I also write down my spends EVERY day in a wee diary and have a seperate purse for my food money. If I can do it, anyone can HTH XXX
My problem is I am exceptionally good at ignoring my spending diary! This month already I have ordered a new Blackberry, a proper water bottle and have put a bid on a tailor's dummy, as well as agreeing to buy my aunty's old overlocker (though at a much reduced price!). And it's only the second! and today I have mostly been sleeping after a big night out on Saturday!
Though I'm liking the idea of calculating what I have and drawing out the cash! Might need to give that a go.misslauren wrote: »Hi all!..
Well, have news on the design front... found a manufacturer in Sydney that will do small runs....
So am getting together some sketches, and have organised a meeting with my friend who owns an online fashion boutique.. pretty good one actually.. to talk about selling through her
Oooh... and I've got myself a website. Its just a holding page currently... but its mine and I think it looks okay.
Hope everyone is doing well!

I've decided to unearth my spending diary. I posted on the 'how much disposable income do you have?' thread and I think I have quite a lot, but musn't be making very good use of it as I'm always skintI have ~£550 left after bills, credit card payments and savings pots topped up. So it's £550/month for food, petrol (I suspect this is taking a good portion of it
), going out, clothes, shoes, haircuts, toiletries, household stuff and small repairs/expenses for house and car. Is this a lot? I don't know where it goes...
GwenxThough no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending0 -
Morning all, Sarah and Shoe gal cash only is the way forward. It's tough though. I have to avoid shops altogether to stop me buying.
Gwen i have about £200 - £250 disposable income after everything. I don't have a car/house though and these deffo eat your money. Also I live 10 mins from work so have NO travel expenses. I am also only spending £40 - £45 a month on food. This takes a lot of organising but appeals to me as I am quite geeky really, despite my wilder moments. Hello all:)
I have been busy busy today, couldn't really go anywhere as I am afraid of car breaking down (it is now booked in for later in the week) so had to get on with the jobs that needed doing here, I have hoovered, polished, washed, tidied, parcelled up my ebay things to post and generally decluttered. I have thrown out one bag of rubbish and have another to go but there is no space in the bin.
And it is still not tidy!!!:(:(:( I don't think I am going to get it done until I have either thrown out or sold nearly everything I own.:(:(:( I have managed to get one drawer almost empty by selling lots of toiletries and one basket half empty by getting rid of bits and bobs but apart from that it is a never ending task.:(
I have not lost any weight again:( which means I haven't lost anything for about weeks and also that I have only lost 4lbs this year.:o At least I am not putting it on but I am unearthing all these nice clothes which I can almost fit into but not quite, which means I cannot get rid of the things in my wardrobe which I don't like but do fit. I could sell/throw them out and move all the nice things into my wardrobe giving me more space and nice things to wear. But I need to lose at least half a stone for that which at current rates will be Christmas.I need to get on with it. I don't want to end up too old to wear them.

Sarah honey, you're having quite a grumpy time of it just lately
. If it's any consolation, I'm sitting in the middle of my bed with clothes and [STRIKE]junk[/STRIKE] lovely items I no longer need, in anticipation of ebaying. Bit I am a bit scared of it! So I am procrastinating and wishing the clothes would pick themselves up to be washed, ironed and photographed!
What do you tend to sell on there? And is it worth it (apart from your last lot there!)?
I feel the same as you do - this place will never be fully decluttered until I get rid of everything I own!!!
I think I'll wander over to the ebay board to see if I can make head nor tails of it!Jan10: 28,315.81 Jan11: 18,015.32 Jan12: 7,682.58 Jan13: 2,987.73 Current debt: 1,225.55

What do you tend to see on there? And is it worth it (apart from your last lot there!)?
Hmm. It is worth it in that I am getting rid of stuff and eventually I will see the benefits and make a few pounds into the bargain. On the other hand I sold a pair of trousers last week for 99p  that I bought for £20 a couple of years ago which had never been worn and still had the tags on.:(
I think clothes don't make much money but on the other hand there are bargains to be had if you are buyer.;) I just have to remind myself I would never have worn them, they were taking up space and I have made a few pennies from them (literally:() which I wouldn't have had otherwise. I think I might make more from my clothes at a car boot sale so I might hang back on those for a while.I feel the same as you do - this place will never be fully decluttered until I get rid of everything I own!!!
Exactly.I just keep reminding myself I will eventually get it done.

That's a good idea, before I got up the nerve to do my own ebaying I read the ebay boards for a few days, just letting it all sink in and that was really helpful. Despite my complaining and the tedium of listing everything, it does pay off when the money starts appearing in my paypal account.:)Pay/save £20k in 2010 £5888.75/£20,000June Mini target 0/5lbs Total 23/40Ebay profit 2010: March £207:) April £95:) May £130:) June £0 Total £432:j0
