Hey hon, can you take pics on your phone? You don't need Word, you just type a quick description straight in? Don't know about taking words/pics from other sites, I've never done that! Hon if I can do it anyone can.

  • Thanks Souk:A My phone takes rubbish pictures, I am happy to get a camera as it will be free using my Boots points, I just need to know how to get the picture from the camera onto ebay, do I just copy and paste it? If I could get a picture on I would be happy to write my own description (looks time consuming and very dull though:(). It's just loading a picture which is worrying me:(.

I now have 2 big baskets bursting at the seams with stuff and I have found a few more today:j I need to get selling:D. I am going to do a 99p sale as a practice run but I am going to very annoyed with myself if I waste my points on a camera and I can't work out how to do it:(

Right it's dead easy. What to do is using a camera or your phone plug the wee cable that fits from your phone into your computer in, and then when it says on your computer to open the folder and view files just open the pic and copy and paste it to your desktop. Keep ebay up all this time and then just go to browse and then search your desktop for the pic and add it. You don't need to write War and Peace for the descriptions love, a few lines will do. Know this all sounds a bit teccy but once you go into ebay, and click start selling it's all there step by step. Good luck X

    Hello all:).

Can any of the ebayers on here give me some advice? I have opened an ebay account and a paypal account.
    • Can I use pictures from the internet to put on a listing or am I only allowed to use photographs I have
    taken from e bay site

    "Photo don'ts
Don’t copy pictures (without permission) from another seller or manufacturer/retailer. "So I wouldn't although I am sure people do.....I think if you have a real photo ie one you took people trust the listing more, you really have that item and it looks like "this" type of thing. although I guess it depends what you are selling (e.g shoes for me - have loads of photos of heels/tops/backs etc so people can see there is no damage)
    • If I can use pictures from other sites how do I do it?
save to your computer and use as you would one of your own - once you go to the start selling page it will take you through it step by step.
    • Do I need Microsoft Word as I don't have it.
No, although sometimes it is useful to save descriptions in when writing loads - (do you use open office? - free software) Its not hugely important tho.
    • Can I copy and paste other people's descriptions and alter them slightly?
Yes, but do alter them, often more experienced sellers are good for this, they have everything covered. Use the sellers checklist, I found it so useful.
    • Do I need to use Photobucket? I have no idea how it works and it sounds far too technical.
No, you can copy pictures directly from your picture folder on your own computer.

My best advice going on my experience is to list a few items at 99p for practice go through the process a few times to get the feel of it. \it is not complicated even tho it can seem daunting. Low value stuff to start with and always always check your postage actually covers the cost of postage.

    Nevertheless she persisted.

    Yes Miss :(

    meanie :p
  • Hi all been off this forum for a few days. its been hard work at work taking calls on the call centre (we are on cover work), so not been able to do my normal caseload. Anyhow have stayed in and was supposed to be going pizza hut tomorrow with work with a £10 but unfortunately the pizza hut place said they would not have enough staff to cope with 23 people and two children!! I mean surely the manager would have thought ohhh look £300 coming in for pizza. so we can't go now. Oh well a tenner saved.

My friend texted me too to ask if I was going out but I could not text her back as no credit so have sent her an email which she will read at work. guess she is !!!!ed off cause I am not going out.

People at work keep telling me to get out but they don't get that if I save money I will have more next month and so it continues.

You all sound like you are doing well anyway. I may see my dad tomorrow after work. Only two days till weekend. I may have some films to watch as my friend at work has some dvds for me.:)
