Forgot to add, well done on the 6lbs make up:j:j:j That's fab:D Can't believe you've done it in one week!
I am thinking of getting a swiss ball if I can find a cheap one on amazon. Has anyone used one and are they worth it? I will of course keep it spotless and out of sight:rolleyes:Pay/save £20k in 2010 £5888.75/£20,000June Mini target 0/5lbs Total 23/40Ebay profit 2010: March £207:) April £95:) May £130:) June £0 Total £432:j0 -
What has annoyed me the most is the agression and the fact he would not dare do such a thing to the male flatmates. He is such a coward:mad:
I will speak to the others and see what they think. I really don't care if he has a problem with me, what concerns me is that he is probably strutting around thinking I have been well and truly told. Grrrrrrrrrrr:mad:
I don't want to move out as he will see that as winning. Pathetic I know but I cannot bear the thought of him thinking he has got his own way.
Am worried about you now. (And working out how many kickboxers/ black belts/ forces sorts of friends I can bribe with 'favours' to have several words with your flatmate.
)
Are the others around much? Any point having a 'house meeting' and maybe mentioning his behaviour along with any other issues?
Please don't be too stubborn about it - he is probably a battle worth losing. You don't need the hassle and it is such a relief when you find humans to share with. (Yes, am nagging you and it is possible I am slightly overreacting but have had several horrible flatmates myself so know it's depressing - and the one who told me off about washing up then put his fist through the bathroom door while yelling that he was going to come in after me with a carving knife. Funnily enough he was also too chicken to ever have words with the blokes.)

sarahb that's awful, I'm so sorry you have to put up with an idiot like that!
Do you have a landlord close by? Is it a shared house you live in that the landlord deals with? Is he/she seemingly reasonable? If so, I'd show the landlord the note - my ex ran hmo's and I know he would NOT have been happy to know that people were behaving like that in his house. Depending on the contract, he may be breaking part of the tenancy agreement? I'm no expert on this mind, just a thought!0 -
Oh dear Sarahb
That's horrible. Why couldn't he have had a quiet word with you politely in person?
It does look like he's trying to intimidate you and to be honest, that'd work on me. I think I'd be out of there like a shot!
Agree with the others...are there other flatmates you could speak to? If you can't sort things out, maybe give it a bit of time to see if it looks like he might move out, if not I think I'd be tempted to leave. Life's too short to be walking on eggshells at home and miserable at work aswell.
Also, 6lbs!! Nearly half a stone?! Well done makeup! :j

Thanks Rosa, I don't think I need to call a house meeting as I am almost certain he will call one himself. He genuinely believes I am at fault here. I do believe though that I will be backed up by the others as I am hardly the only one who forgets to ensure the sink is sparkling:rolleyes: I just don't want an atmosphere and I can't be bothered to argue with him.
I do wonder though if this is the push I need, was never particularly happy here, although certainly not unhappy, so I will see what happens, I was never really bothered about moving before but maybe an opportunity I would have previously rejected to avoid the hassle of moving will come along and this time I will take it. Or maybe he will move out:jPay/save £20k in 2010 £5888.75/£20,000June Mini target 0/5lbs Total 23/40Ebay profit 2010: March £207:) April £95:) May £130:) June £0 Total £432:j0 -

Totally agree. Moving out is the last resort. And would be lovely to move knowing you've got a fab place of your own to go to and he will be cursed with a replacement flatmate who leaves all sorts of crumbs, toenail clippings, hair shavings all over flat!!!
Agree with Bibbitybob about checking your tenancy agreement. I bet your landlord would be worried about losing a good tenant like yourself??
Am seriously scared by Rosa's story, I have shared with some crazy flatmates in my time but none as bad as that! Carving knives :eek:I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills
And feed my interiors addiction0 -

Exactly! He should meet some of the people I have shared with. :eek:Pay/save £20k in 2010 £5888.75/£20,000June Mini target 0/5lbs Total 23/40Ebay profit 2010: March £207:) April £95:) May £130:) June £0 Total £432:j0 -
I should add that it turned out he didn't actually have a carving knife, he was just being a general forknugget !!!!!!, but I didn't know that when I had to open the bathroom door to him (since he'd already punched a holte in it, and having worked out that even if I managed to break the window and exit naked through broken glass, I would still be standing naked in a small yard with a 6' fence and no gate). As soon as I saw he was just having a tantrum I yelled back at him. He didn't appear to understand why this incident upset me or why I wrote to the landlord when I went on holiday the next day - apparently I totally overreacted .
I'm not saying your forkwit flatmate will do the same SarahB, hopefully mine was a singularly bad example, it was just to explain why I'm somewhat paranoid!

Makeup - that's brilliant news on the weight loss, well done :A
Sarah - am utterly stunned at the creep's action  I completely understand your determination to stand your ground & not let him think he's won ... however, I agree with Rosa about it probably not being a battle worth fighting.
DD1 went through a similar scenario in her last shared house & was very determined not to be bullied, but after a while she just decided that she really didnt care about the principle & would just rather move on & let the idiot get on with it.
If you approach this development from a different angle you could view it as a sign that this is change you need to make in order for your life to start flowing in the right direction again. Yes, moving is hassle but it's also quite exciting & could open up a whole delicious new era & opportunities.
Sometimes we need to be 'shown' that things arent working & it really seems to me that this is a chance for you to take step in a new direction.
- In the meantime I am available this weekend to come & tell Mr. Angry about his own shortcomings0
