Single and in Debt Part 3- The problem of surplus and excess women

Maybe if you left a row of dirty coffee cups outside his door he wouldn't be able to cross the threshold and would be stuck in his room FOREVER?
That could solve problem.....
I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills

As soon as I saw he was just having a tantrum I yelled back at him. He didn't appear to understand why this incident upset me or why I wrote to the landlord when I went on holiday the next day - apparently I totally overreacted .
I'm not saying your forkwit flatmate will do the same SarahB, hopefully mine was a singularly bad example, it was just to explain why I'm somewhat paranoid!

He still punched a hole in a door though!?!?!:eek: I would be bricking it!! And he had the cheek to say you were overreacting???
These stories make me so glad I've got my own place. Alright it's a hole, but it's my hole (although I do have some 'interesting' neighbours ).

Thanks Rosa, I don't think I need to call a house meeting as I am almost certain he will call one himself. He genuinely believes I am at fault here. I do believe though that I will be backed up by the others as I am hardly the only one who forgets to ensure the sink is sparkling:rolleyes: I just don't want an atmosphere and I can't be bothered to argue with him.
I do wonder though if this is the push I need, was never particularly happy here, although certainly not unhappy, so I will see what happens, I was never really bothered about moving before but maybe an opportunity I would have previously rejected to avoid the hassle of moving will come along and this time I will take it. Or maybe he will move out:j
It's the others that I was thinking was an issue - if they agree he's being ridiculous hopefully he will back off
Sending you fab new flat vibes . I could've written that - hated moving as worked about that from uni til a few years after I'd moved on average every 8 months. But did put up with rather too much nonsense to avoid it and am very relieved to have somewhere that's mainly just me.

If you approach this development from a different angle you could view it as a sign that this is change you need to make in order for your life to start flowing in the right direction again. Yes, moving is hassle but it's also quite exciting & could open up a whole delicious new era & opportunities.
Sometimes we need to be 'shown' that things arent working & it really seems to me that this is a chance for you to take step in a new direction..
I am hoping that that's the case, will wait and see what happens and keep my eye out for the next step.- In the meantime I am available this weekend to come & tell Mr. Angry about his own shortcomings

Lula is right. Whilst this is a total pain in the backside, it could in fact work out for the best. Stranger things have happened. You could move into a new flat, with new people, one of whom invites round some of his gorgeous single male friends one night.... Life take unexpected turns sometimes, but they're not always bad

I did think that I had to make changes, am quite lazy at times so maybe it's best this has been forced on me. Am actually feeling quite positive about the whole thing now:D

I do agree with others that it could be a sign that it's time to move on anyway - if you've never been 100% happy then maybe it's worth looking around?
That said, I would stress contacting your LL. If this guy makes everyone's life a misery then the LL could potentially lose a string of tenants and even if you do move out I think it's important to be completely honest and tell him why. Would it be worth keeping a diary of the things he says/does?
Feeling a bit rubbish at spending £28 on RAC membership, but I'll get £20 cashback eventually (just would've been nice to put a nice round amount into savings this month, is that silly?) and will kick myself if I breakdown and have to pay full membership fees.
I really should go to sleep!0 -

Good :j,
it's not so long ago that I was terrified about taking a step towards a new job - having hated the hideous home job & moaned about it daily for about ages.
I seem to remember that you were very encouraging, supportive & most insistent that I had to get a new job & get out of my self made rut & that it would lead to new opportunities.
I'm just returning the karma, thank you :A0
