Wow, great news on the PPI claim back FeeFee , really happy for you
I bottled out of trying to reclaim mine as was too scared the debt would be called in. Guess I should try again really .../
I am getting very bored of debt busting again, it takes too long & I am not a patient person. If I knew I could clear it by this time next year then I might well be happy to live like pauper for just one year. Semi pauper for 2 years is just not thrilling me right now.
Come on, own up, who's got my motivation ?0 -
Feefee congrats on the PPI reclaim - thats a fantastic amount to get back! And feel free to live vicariously, I do that a lot too.
Lincs, 27 and living at home, I tell my parents that I stayed at a friends so we could share the taxi and save money.
Ziggles and Lula Hula, thank you very much, it was good funDebt free date - 4th December 2008 :j0 -
Woohoooooo!
I've just been accepted for a 0% Virgin card that will give me enough to get my mortgage balance down to the point where I can pay it off at the end of January.
I guess that means I'm back to not being debt free though but as it's unsecured debt & the fee is less than 3% as opposed to the 4.5% APR on my mortgage I don't care.

Hey Lula, I felt the same way - didn't rate my chances so didn't bother but am sooo glad I did now. Have read of people having their reclaims deducted from arrears and outstanding debts but nothing about debts being recalled as a result. Really have nothing to lose....
Way I see it is, chances are that most or all of us on here have had a few loans and cards along the way, and if they have been fined for 'thieving' from their customers then we are entitled to claim it back. It's surprisingly easy too, best two stamps I've used this year!:D
And.... it could be pretty motivating having a nice chunk to chip away at the debts and seeing your DFD come tantalisingly closer??:o
BlackSunderlandCat - that is fantastic you must be grinning away, well done:D
Carole - loving the MSE excuse/cover story :T
Ooo! And... having a windfall week - had a letter from my previous energy supplier to say they owe me £160!! Will be buying lottery tickets this weekend as these things come in threes :j:jFeeFee

Hello fabulous ones
Great news on the 0% card SBC, I applied last year & was declined, intend on having another go in the new year though.
It seems like the SAIDs collective karma is on the up againgreat news on the rebate too FeeFee.
lincs -there's nothing like cancelling a subscription to get these datig sites to start heaping special offers on you. One of them keeps offering me weekly membership at £1 a week. I would recommend that you only ever have a months' membership of a site & meet up ( in a safe place of course) with anyone you fancy asap - why waste time ? A month is as long as it will take to sift through the dross out there, then you move on to another site & repeat the process. Of course, you also need to come here & report all your findings & may I wish you the best of luck in your search.
Hope everyone else is fabulous & looking forward to the weekend

Lincs - usual suggestions are having a trawl for stuff to flog on ebay, surveys, scratchcards etc.. why not re-visit your soa/snowball now that you've ditched the online dating costs and see if that cheers you up! If all else fails avoid the housework by spending hours on here seeing how everyone else is getting on!
Any fabulous plans for the weekend all?
Looking forward to getting fabulously trolleyed at the works do!!
Not so looking forward to trying to finish my assignment whilst nursing a sore head!!
Off to bed to catch up on my zzz's.... (at 9.45pm)

Great news on the 0% card SBC, I applied last year & was declined, intend on having another go in the new year though.
Why wait? When I was trying to get my remaining interest bearing debts onto a single 0% card I just kept applying for 1 every month until I was accepted.
September - Marbles - Declined
October - Amex - Declined
November - Virgin - Accepted
Once I'd got the virgin card I transferred everything onto it & the applied for an Egg Money card to get cashback & got that even before cancelling all the other cards I'd transferred to Virgin.
It seemed to go from no-one wanting to touch me with a bargepole to being accepted by everyone without any visible changes to my credit records other than the application was making each month.0 -
Hello all, well done on the PPI refund Fee Fee and well done on getting your mortgage sorted SBC, by the way, I think you who was asking about using Tesco vouchers for OU courses and using other people's vouchers? I think you said your parents were not allowed to give you their vouchers, well I have just had some reward vouchers this morning for a magazine subscription and they just have your surname on and no address or postcode, so, presuming that you have the same surname as your parents you should be able to use theirs too.
I am most annoyed as I have logged on to my email and there was a message about my Christmas presents order saying that one of the items I ordered was out of stock so they were going to hold all the other things I had ordered until that was in stock, estimated delivery time 14 days. Erm, that's Christmas Eve:mad:. Have had to cancel the whole lot and start again:mad:. So will lose the quidco money and have had to use amazon instead. At least I will get some nectar points but it's not the same as cash.
Have had £3 from a cashback site today which has gone in my free money account, plus I checked an account with another bank I hadn't used for a while and found £5 in there:j. I had the day off today, which I really needed and I have got quite a few housework type things done and sorted out my presents so I know who is getting what when the final things arrive. Just want to get everything wrapped and sorted so I don't hae to think about Christmas again until Christmas Eve.:rolleyes:Pay/save £20k in 2010 £5888.75/£20,000June Mini target 0/5lbs Total 23/40Ebay profit 2010: March £207:) April £95:) May £130:) June £0 Total £432:j0 -
Hi Fab ones,
Fee and SBC ace news on the MSE front!
Lula, maybe your motivation is having a day off sick? There's a lot of it about at this time of year. I've been snottering away all week!
I've had a lovely dinner with my bro. Ate a really nice goulash I made in the SC last week and had some red wine. Great, and very cheap at £2.99 from Aldi.
Been crap with NSD's this month so need to have two tomorrow and Saturday. Quiet weekend planned with a bit of wine I already have in the fridge and some X Factoring me thinks!
Fee enjoy the work do! X'The road to a friends house is never long'0
