Choosing OS over Technology

I like many others like to wash up by hand - I have had dishwashers in the past but they can be smelly and I did have one that caught Fire  so instead of using up all that expensive electricity I can get all of the washing up done in around 15 minutes

I knit jumpers for me and the whole family because they are so much warmer than the ones that you can buy and last a lot longer too
They really came into their own this winter  so did the crocheted blankets
I have an old fashioned hand cranked Singer sewing machine that is sufficient for everything that I need and I find it gives a much stronger seam too again it saves on electric.
I love to bake but I must confess to using my kenwood for most things because my hands are not as good as they once were
I grow a lot of fruit and veg - it is easier to do now that DH has built me some raised beds bless him.
I love mooching around shops it is so much more fun and we quite often make it so that it is a family day out.
I have a sweeper mop for the laminate floors and an old fashioned ewbank for the rugs - I only have to hoover once a week
There is nothing quite like the smell of line dried washing.
TV is awful and we rarely watch it, we all have hobbies that we enjoy-You know mine, DH loves to paint and draw, DD is the same as her dad and uses photoshop a lot and DS loves to do model making.
We currently have a jigsaw on the go and everyone loves to put a few pieces in everyday until it is finishedBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

I pay bills by writing cheques. I don't use online banking. I don't use a cash card.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0

I have a breadmaker, it collects dust while I mix and knead dough with my hands, my Henry watches from the corner when I sweep the carpets, I gave the dishwasher away, the washing machine has quite a few rest days in the summer when I wash by hand.
When I watch tele, I make cards, gift tags etc. to sell or I make roll-ups - OK, I know making your own cigs isn't OS but it is moneysaving

I do most things in the kitchen by hand - the food processor went to a charity shop long ago! Making bread and cakes, chopping veg etc - and I use a potato masher to "liquidise" soup.
The one bit of technology I wouldn't be without is really old-style - a spin dryer. It's great for taking most of the water out of my (hand-washed) hand-knitted wooly jumpers, which really proved their worth this last winter!
Plus I've gone back to using a wind-up watch - I'll never need another battery.....0
