Is anyone debating that?
The debate is around a private seller having to arrange for the pickup of a (questionably) faulty item, when paypal pretty much insist on the seller returning the item at their expense0 -
I did instantly offer a refund but i was not prepared to pay for return postage as i believe the item was ` as described`. If its returned and i have missed something, then i wont hesitate to refund return postage.I agree with the person who says the new feedback systems gives more protection to the buyer and opens up `abuse` for sellers.Ebay is hugely weighted in favour of the buyer. Let the paypal system take it's course.
Remember if you are certain the item was fine you do not have to refund return postage.
A negative hurts it's true but you can add you honest comment under it and sensible buyers can make up their own minds.
Check out some really big sellers and you will see they have thousands of negatives but still more positives. It comes with dealing with people. You just can't please everybody.0 -
It's certainly true that eBay is weighted in favour of buyers. I guess the eBay executives decided that the least damaging course of action for eBay is to annoy sellers rather than buyers, as the latter can buy from anywhere, but sellers are realistically restricted to eBay. Everything eBay does is to increase profits for themselves, not for fairness or anything else.0

Quick update, The buyer hasnt returned the item but the status on paypal is that they (paypal) want a response from me confirming that he has returned the item, which he hasnt. At what point will they realise that he isnt sending it back and release my money? I thought i read somewhere on my paypal account that he had until the 11th to confirm a tracking number or the case would be closed, but i cant see that information now.“Love yourself first and everything else falls into line. I need some more advice please.paypal have this evening, reversed the payment to the buyer even though i havent received the item back. The buyer emailed me the tracking number yesterday and when i checked the status this morning, it said the item was out for delivery,I waited in and checked again online at lunchtime.It said that the consignee had not been availabe

The buyer has now got his money back and May even end up with the item again. I was in all morning so dont know why it wasnt delivered. More to the point,he could have sent anything.this all feels very unfair and i have made a complaint against paypal, fat lot of good that will do me.“Love yourself first and everything else falls into line. You will have to ring Paypal and get them to check the tracking he supplied. You will end up having to prove that any signature is not yours.
My son lost money on payapl once because tracking was supplied but we proved it was the wrong name and the wrong city. he did eventually get his money back from Paypal.
Tell Paypal you will go to the finanacial ombudsman and do so. You can ring them and initiate a complaint tomorrow. They are the only people Paypal have to answer to.0
