Bought 2 Sun's yesterday (all the shop had left)...no voucher's in them. Glad i checked before i bought somemore in another shop.

Wonder why the voucher wasn't in the Scottish Sun? The thing is, my fav SA in T's told me conditional spends were ok. So, was looking forward to getting some of these. I expect it won't be long until there in a paper again.

    Hi Jax

What's the betting that there will be some stonking offers in the Daily Mail/The Sun anytime soon for Mr T's just as all this has happened

Went to Tesco yesterday to use up my wine double up voucher, Waitrose conditional spend voucher plus Domestos and Canderel coupons as I had bought the products. Also bought a bottle of Gin at special price of £10. When I got to the checkout I presented my coupons (the legitimate ones) and the young lad didn't even glance at them so I handed over the rest I had which he continued to scan. At the end he said the bill was £20 (for a £50 shop) so I paid up quickly, grateful that he had taken all my coupons.

I was just driving down the road when I started wondering why my bill was £20 as by my calculations is should have been £10 so I stopped the car and checked my bill - he had completely missed off the £10 double up voucher! So back I went to customer services - as soon as they saw my receipt all they were interested in was the fact that I had used so many coupons which was no longer allowed. I just played dumb and said I was unaware of the new policy. Eventually the supervisor went off to check the till and I went along just to double check! Sure enough there was my £10 voucher. I was begrudgingly given my £10 back (no mention of double the difference) and told that the young lad would be getting into serious trouble for putting through all the coupons. Made me feel very guilty and like a criminal for presenting them in the first place.

Oh well, it was good while it lasted. I won't be shopping there for the forseable future - will be trying Aldi and Lidle instead! I do have a Waitrose only 3 miles away but unfortunately they only take coupons up to 10% of your shop and as they are much more expensive in the first place I won't be going there either!

    Hi there
    Ye, was thinking that myself.

A couple of days ago I was looking at Tesco Direct for a watch for someone for a pressie. (Only a cheap one as always breaking them). Didn't order it as begrudged paying £5 collection charge for picking it up in store.

Now I won't bother. Checked on Argos site and they have the same watch at the same price and no charge for collection.
From tomorrow, Lidl are flogging some watches for £5.99.

    Hi Dave,

Do you know if they are adults or children's or both?

    Thanks!

It takes two to tango though. You should equally chastise PC together with Dave. Dave's opinion may be unpopular on this board but he is entitled to his say.
    Thanks for that!

I nearly missed your post what with all this hanging my head in shame at the request of the coupon police. ;)

    click on specials

and you'll see the watches on the "current specials" tab

They're no Tag or Rolex, but I imagine they tell the time!

See I could never do this, as much as I have had my fair share of hassle from the SA's, I could never, ever hand over coupons that were not allowed :o - I know they were still legitimate Genmod but you knew the policy had changed and still gave them.

I think I got on an even keel with my store (after many battles ) because they knew I was so honest and co-operative with them. I also knew in my mind that if I was ever challenged or had a random check of my coupons that they were all different, in date etc etc.

I just know that this post is probably going to come over all wrong (I really hope not though) but I am not having a personal attack on you Genmod, just giving my personal opinion.

Thanks for the link, that's all I want something to tell the time, I want one for DS1 who just started secondary school.

Judging by their offers I think I might go there tomorrow instead!

I understand where you are coming from and I certainly don't take it as a personal attack but if I had not read on here on Friday about the change in coupon policy I would have been totally unaware and would have handed my coupons over as normal anyway. I had phoned my local store on Friday afternoon and was told no more coupons, I then phoned a store further away and was told their policy hadn't changed so this is the store I went to. I also checked in store when I arrived to see if any signs had been put up and they had not so I thought I would chance it and see what happened.

I have always followed the policy to the letter avoiding any coupons like the Walls and Pedigree ones and would never intentionally get anyone into trouble (like the young lad). I was certainly made to feel extremely bad by the customer service staff. Maybe I should have checked with them first but as there was a long queue I decided just to see what happened at the till. I will certainly know for future!
