My Tesco's has finally implemented the new coupon policy, after 3 weeks I thought they were not going to! It is not quite as bad as I thought. I was talking to a very friendly check-out girl, and she was quite happy to take a couple of coupons off me, even though it was not the exact product. I had a voucher for CIF bathroom spray, I bought CIF multi purpose but because it was still CIF she accepted it. The same with a £3 Airwick voucher, Tesco did not have the type on the voucher but had a different Airwick half price at £2.99, this was allowed so I got it free. plus a penny surplus! It appears the computers that control the tills have not been re-programmed so it is up to the check-out person to accept it. Try it, but avoid the trouts!
I am still using Tesco's, I am not boycotting them. It is not their fault, it is greedy people abusing the system. The regulars who contribute to this and other threads all help each other with new coupon links etc. It is obvious from previous posts that there are people reading these posts, making no contribution at all, just printing and photocopying vouchers.

The whole point of our boycott (temporary) is to hopefully make T's sit up and take notice of their lost custom. Thus, bringing in at least a morphed version of the old coupon policy. Had they trained their staff, old trouts, customer service managers, supervisors properly in the first place there would not have been an abuse of the policy.
I must admit I have enjoyed shopping elsewhere in recent weeks. :T:T

:eek::eek: No, not me, but I was in the store at the same time and saw her arguing with the Store Manager too :eek::eek:

I was the one at the tills using Mocs with a happy scanner :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I will look out for you next time I'm near the reductions cabinet, but I'm too shy :o to say ........ "are you Mad?" ......... I might get some snooty looks   and be escorted from the store if I ask the wrong person :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Can you imagine Mad asking for a cashless-cow? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

There were people walking in and just buying toilet roll!

  • I think this is pretty much the same thing i did, except i did it through quidco.co.uk and did it on bogofs on tesco.com, took £10 off the order plus £10 cashback plus £5 staff discount, so got £50 of shopping for £5...is this the same thing?

yes exactly - but no cashback has registered? so not such a good deal?

I agree with the principle behind the boycott, but I still can not condemn Tesco's for doing what the rules of the coupon say. Also, if they did lose a lot of custom who would be the loser? The poor girl on the check out, she could lose her job. Tesco as a company would not suffer. I know I seem to be standing alone here, but Morrisons, Sainsburys, Asda etc do not take coupons unless you buy the product, why pick on Tesco? (Incidentally I have no personal or financial relationship with Tesco).

They never were interested in the t's & c's on the coupons hence the coupon policy. It was, and is always the supplier that pays up in the end including any 2 for 1 offers. I doubt the girl on the checkout would lose her job because we decided to boycott T's for four weeks.
