  • Avoided Tesco at all costs this week. Shopped in Netto today for first time. Got home and went on www.mysupermarket.com and costed my purchases, all branded, against the big four. Tesco was the cheapest of the four for the same items, but even they were 50% dearer than Netto. Ocado (Waitrose) were 120% dearer! I somehow think that being loyal to Tesco since a child has cost dear. Even double Clubcard points cannot make up such a large difference. I must add too that Asda were 95% dearer than Netto and considerably more than Tesco. Just goes to show how advertising can colour the facts, and how expensive loyalty is.

Someone on HotUKdeals was having a rant about Martin Lewis and saying that MSE is too heavily censored.

I had to laugh when a short while later his post was censored and removed by Hotukdeals. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Wonder if he saw the funny side. :D

Had lots of response re making my own yog so this is how I do it! I hope someone finds it useful, please feel free to PM with any queries!!

So wish I'd had this info. 6 months ago when I had one of those Easiyo things. Trawled the internet at the time for comprehensible and simple (country bumpkin don't forget) instructions to use it (without the special and expensive sachets) to no avail, so ended up taking it to the charity shop. :o
Did the Asda last night - as previously posted Pilgrim's Choice 400g for £1 - what a bargain, although our Asda only lets you buy 3, so no freezing instructions needed in this house. And they really do go to town on the Hallowe'en stuff  if you need anything in that line. Lidl again today for a top up on the fresh veg. Happy weekend all. ;)

Freeze bread and take out only what you need.

Late evening shopping at all supermarkets gives bargains to freeze for as little as 10p - bread plus fruit & veg aisles. (note, some veg has to be blanched before freezing)

I don't need to freeze bread as we make our own. A bread maker was the best thing we ever bought! I think I've only bought about 5 loaves of bread in the past 6 years (since we bought a bread maker). Homemade bread is soooo much nicer.;)

just received my post and there is a "postcard" type flyer for 40p off Alpro Soya products - also in todays Sun free hovis loaf from Mr Ts.
Haven't been to Ts since Friday but bought my paper at corner shop and will just go to Ts for free loaf and possibly use the free facilities

May I ask you which make of machine you use? Do you weigh out ingredients or use a bread mix?
