I went to the Costa coffee in my local tesco extra yesterday (please don't shoot me, i really needed a shot of caffeine)
I didn't buy anything else and didn't even look around the store.
From where i was sitting in costa coffee i could see all of the shop floor and it was very very quiet.
This was 4pm so should have been heaving with the after school shopping etc. but there was hardly anyone in there and only about 6 checkouts and the self serve checkouts open.
Are there really that many MSE shoppers out there?

My dad and i used the same extra Ts but never saw anyone else in them using coupons. Except one woman who used to put though a 5 split shop and pretnd it was for different people. They saw her afew times on the "school run time" but once the SA told her she couldnt do that anymore as they were too busy they never saw her again.
We went to the bidston and heswall ( sometimes) stores - nothing wrong in saying the names now!
any other ex-couponers at these stores - it would be intereting to know if we were the only ones !

Sad thing is most them run alonside each other. I will be poppin into f/foods see if we can get lots stuff for £50 and use coupon.

BTW... Whats all doing about gfs, i bought 2 tickets off the internet, dunno if i shall go n collect the coupons as they may have long dates on and useful for buying the product?

Look out in ur mail box i joined Tombola and sending out £5 free play, i played last night won £74 sent ina cheque.....
    SIMPLES!
  • What's going on guys? every other post starts with "went to T's today" we're supposed to be boycotting for 4 weeks not 4 days, is the pull really that strong?

I totally agree, can't believe how many people are still going. Some have said that can't afford not to. I believe we can't afford to shop there for the next three and a half weeks. This could mean the difference between loosing couponing for the next three and a half weeks or forever! So come on guys, do your best, this is our one chance to make a difference.:D

P.S Chantelle, this has nothing to do with you, so don't waste your time reading it.

Mum was talking to lovely SA in her Waity's today, she said that this Sat? you have to buy the Sun in Waitrose and then they will hand you a £5 off coupon  She was talking about the Tesco change in policy and telling mum that they are now the only supermarket to take coupons without buying the product.

  • .Also PCN, am quite curious re T's accepting coupons for sooo long as I came across the policy accidently, about a year ago... In your past experience (I hope you don't mind sharing with us) have T's taken this stance re permanent ban if not buying the correct product? Here's still hoping something might change...:o:o:o I know what has already been communicated regarding it being a permanent change...:o But in more then 30yrs there must have been times when the policy changed and was re introduced? Hoping and praying...:o:p TIA
    [/QUOTE]
AFAIK Tesco have never introduced this total ban before i am guessing it's happening now as there is so much info around, ie MSE, PTS, etc. Just as we can share info quickly, so can Tesco [& others] & the unfortunate T store that had major abuse has probably been named & shamed through Tesco grapevine. My parents still only use MOC's found in papers, mags etc, they have no computer, whilst I have to admit my MOC useage is greater now due to this forum.
DD1 will ask when he goes into work this pm, if this is permant or a trial etc.
On a slighty different note, DD1 says when a privilage card [staff discount] is used, the security camaras swivell round to c
heck who is using it, & a tannoy message is played out the back of the store!!!!!! If this is true, talk about big brother watching you!!!!!!:eek:
Need to find alternative place to shop but at the moment can't be a**sed to drive 12 miles, could ask DH to stop at Morrisons on way home from work, but he dosen't see the bargains!!!!
2011, this will be my year .

As mentioned before I am keeping to shopping between Asda, my local Coop and Waitrose when I can get there, but what puzzles me is even if Tesco does notice a difference in their profit how will they know this is down to the coupon policy changing. Wont they just think that customers are going elsewhere due to their prices and bring in some promotion just like Morrisons did a while back with 50p products for example.

I would love to see the coupon policy reverting to what it was but am not really that optimistic. Are people still searching for more coupons because I think this is our best bet for getting bargains at the moment especially a couple of larger ones for every day products.

  • As for Asda, I don't know how many of you knows - if they overcharged you for a certain item - go to the customer service, show them the receipt & the item, they will refund you not only the balance (say the item is £1. & it scanned £1.50 - you get back your 50p) but also they will have to give you £2.00 gift card thats their policy (some customer service will not give you if you dont ask - I don't know whether they pretend to be stupid or they genuinely forgot to give the £2 - but I always make sure I come out with £2 gift card if they make a mistake on my receipt).

Where is this policy advertised so I can quote it next time Asda get my bill wrong which in my experience there is 1 out of every 2 or 3 shops, usually not taking multisaves off!

It looks like only your store that is doing the offer.
I went to have a look & it is still the same normal price per can  not going again. When to pay for oreo cookies instead with 20p coupons since it is on offer 41p each b4 coupon, my regular lady is not in so I went to this trouty women who hates couponers & I said to her, I bet you are glad now & she said yes it is better for her.

    Hi

The Mr T cheapo Heinz is deffo in more than just my store. My sis checked and she's in another part of the country. You have to find it in different places. One a dump bin near the escalator up. Two a dump bin near the immigrant foods dry goods (usually near fizzy drinks). Three dry goods 'reducedville' near carton OJ. Hope this helps. They seem to move it about every time, this is the ONLY reason I go to Mr T now, I am boycotting, but if they've got Heinz soup (Chicken and barley posh) for20/30p per tin, I'll take advantage shamelessly. Needless to say, it's all I will be buying. You have to delve as there's all sorts in these dump bins, wash powder etc, lots of stuff and have to hunt for the real bargains. There were twelve of those green trays piled up on top of each other, too, and husby picked them off one by one so I could find all the cheap deals. Ended up getting 30 tins Heinz with dates 2010 for 20/30p each. Not bad, but still boycotting - but obviously none of us can afford to cut our nose off to spite our face. :) Also, Asda have started to change their yellow ticket policy, I tend to find lots if I go in at 2ish in the afternoon. I know it's no help to those that work then, sorry :(
