I went to aldi's today and found some bargains:

2.5kg Marris Piper potatoes for 59p
    4pints whole milk 99p

Then I visited the Sainsbury's next door and bought some nappies. I gave the SA a genuine Pedigree coupon with my nectar card and she scanned it without blinking an eyelid. Result! Will be going to her again!

Just bought my Car insurance for £350 - Tesco's missed out on this money as well!

Keep the faith - vote with your money!!!

I went to Morrisons today and you wouldn't believe how cheap things are:

    1kg baby potatoes - 30p
    1kg coking onions - 30p
    iceberg lettuce - 30p
    Arla milk 2 litres - 74p

lovely experience! Things are very cheap elsewhere. How much would that have cost in Tesco's!!!

I will certainly avoid Tesco's, I have my car insurance due tomorrow and that will not be renewed with Tesco's value insurance - no chance!

    1. Maybe the guesstimate of 36,000 coupons (£250,000 rumour) covers the scam over a period of recent weeks?

After a quick add up I've calculated that a full "set" of Pedigree, (1 of each on the site) would give £20, plus about £5 for all the other PDFs would mean the gangs could have had unlimited amounts of £25 shops. £250,000 would be only 10,000 tranactions using a set, divided by 3 stores over 2 days would be 1,666 transactions per store per day.

It sounds crazy but anyone doing this would not actually be going against policy at first glance, it wouldn't be apparent for a couple of days at least that all the Pedigree's had the same ID, and even though it is considered a no-no doing multiple shops in a day is not prohibited.
Considering this, it doesn't sound so unbelievable in a badly ran store.

1,666 might not sound that much but if it took 10 Pedigree coupons to make £20 that's 16,660 coupons + any others pdf's etc. I think 16,660 would be a pretty big pile and the cash office would've noticed that many pretty quickly. I don't think a till holds too many at a time. SA's would be needing to get their tills emptied more frequently which would flag up to the team leaders.

Evening everyone, I am done in with my supermarket sweeps ;)

Went to Lidl - saw the watches - thanks again Dave - but only ladies left  Got some good bargains there too.

Got my 2 x loo roll from Netto's and then went to Waitrose and nearly had a panic attack at the prices :eek::eek:

12 eggs £4.35 :eek::eek::eek: I need 2 dozen for 1 sitting in my house when we have eggs & toast :p

So a good day for me and I enjoyed it :j

Was so nice getting treated like a human being too I could get used to it :A

Jeferey - the shares finished up.

edit: [SIZE=-1]LONDON (Reuters) - Tesco , the world's third-biggest retailer, posted a better-than-expected 8.6 percent rise in first-half profit and said it was well positioned for a recovery in its markets.
and the shares have gone down - does anyone understand the stock market

Apparently the figures are for the period to August 29th - I think this will include the period where they had loads of points promotions - I know I for one bought loads more stuff as there was a 'profit' to be made in points on many items plus of course many were bought with MOC's. All this has gone and I would have thought there would be a big impact in sales - over 50% of people on this forum aren't shopping there for the next 4 weeks for a start - that's gotta hurt :D

  • These were delivered with our local free paper they are glossy coupons several joined together just so you know what to expect . I asked about getting some leaflets delivered with the local rag once and it was very cheap but you had to have a minimum of 15000. The leaflets are given to the people who usually deliver the newspaper and they get paid a couplle of £ more to deliver them aswell . So i am not saying anything horrible but a few could go astray !

We're going to have to try even harder to save money now peeps. We can still share all our tips and cheap buys, can't we?

We've been buying Morrisons own value loo roll, it's about £1.25 for 9 rolls and the best cheap loo roll we've found :) Also bought loads of manager's special stuff from Mr T last night, soup for 20p per tin (posh Heinz), herbs from 30p (super cheap) and a big jar of Carte Noir for 50p. All had loads of date left. HTH

Why are you such a sad little g*t that you keep harping on about something/someone that is pleasant, harmless, helpful & funny and has caused us op's to have many a giggle. Something that is hard to come by in these difficult times.

Can't you take a leaf out of his book or just go away...............:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
