I changed from Orange to O2 kept my number. 400 mns + 400 texts for 1st 3 months then 200mns + 200 texts a month =£30. After 3 payments send the bill back to them and they refund £90, continue to do this all through your contract and you get every penny back. I make sure to write it down in my diary to remind me , coz should you forget to claim back the bills within 14 days they keep the monthly payments you have made. That is what they rely on customers doing (forgeting)

You could try the usual method of calling Orange CS and telling them you want to move to another network and request your PAC code, and see if they try to persuade you to stay. If they do make you an offer just ask for what you want, however £30 a month is not really considered a high spend to them :-/

At the end of my Orange contract last year I was on the same plan as you were, paying £30 a month for 200 minutes. The best they were willing to offer was to match O2's 200mins/100txt text, but I still had to pay about £100 for a new phone which I could get for free on a new contract. I found that quite poor, considering I had added bundles and spent extra on some 0870 calls nd texts.

And so it was au revoir Orange.

I hope you have better luck.
  • Your best option would be to port your number to another network with a cash back deal. Orange aren't really interested when it comes to people wanting to disconnect. For £30 you should be getting at least 400 minutes and 100 texts. Also the deal Orange offer you will depend on how much you spend each month.

Let us know how you get on.

I experienced the same as many of the other posters above. When my contract ran out they wouldn't even give me the K800i free (which the would for a new connection on the tariff I was on) let alone any loyalty rewards. I was spending around £30 a month and I found them quite rude when I was dealing with their customer services to get my PAC code.
Moved to T-mobile on a much better deal and the customer service seems much better as well.
Orange only seem to be interested in you if you are spending loads on your bill.

So that will cost you £210 - £100 = £110 for the year but they have given you a PSP and memory stick!

  • I used to work for a mobile retailer who has recently been taken over by a mobile network <cough cough>, and as a result are throwing out crazy deals, especially to ex-staff...
