We'll have to wait for the technical whizz kid on that one!;)
Simply - I know what you mean, its amazing that some people dont actually like rain! Another solidly consistent training run there.:D
Linda - Its probably Tom Williams (the Marathon Talk presenter) who will be helping with the set up at Lister Park.Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

thanks Steve, where's eRunning? Is that another forum? Send me a link so I can go check out your post, if you've had time that is. Thanks a million!
Thanks guys - yes, enjoyed the gym run, different route at least! it was actually quite achievable too, which surprised me. So, there's hope!
Becky - Aug 08? Wow, I would have thought Becky was born running! We've all had our exciting journeys of change.0 -

Morning
Some good running Simply, Rich and BJ (its good to have you back around!).
Lurkio that looks a good effort to me
Wimped out and took drugs for stomach which seemed to have worked but now I have cough (joy) - am running tonight though but just a slow 10k and another tomorrow and Saturday then a 21 miler on Sunday is the plan I think
I'll have a look at those links - if anyone else wants to have their diary on their you need to set it up as a google doc (requires google account) and then select 'share' with everyone who has link and them pm me the link...sounds complicated but its really not - honestly!
Some of you havent completed your profiles yet so you wont show or be allowed to post etc until you do - thats just the way the sites set up0 -
Okay after a bit of html editing those links (training diaries) should always open in a new window even for firefox users0

Morning all, had a good nights sleep and ready for my run this afternoon - 6 miles today.0

When is the Manc 10k? i.e. will you have time to increase your number of sessions before it?
You haven't got much to play with, really, but increase the distance of one of your weekly runs gradually, by around 10% a time. Make sure you run this easy, not your full 10K pace. If you have time, you should aim to run further than 10K in training before the race. In an ideal world.
As for the second session, keep it easy as well for now. Maybe increase that to around 7K too, but not until you've exceeded 7K on your long run. If you find you're not improving naturally, you may be able to do something else with this session on some weeks. But like I say, you don't have many sessions to play with.
Thanks beer tins,
The 10k is in may, so i hope i have pleanty of time, but i'm worried two runs a week isn't enough
Just so i'm clear this is what you're suggesting:
Session 1, increase my 5k distance up about 10% each time i run - aim to get about 12k as a run
Session 2, do i just take this easy and increase my distance if i feel ok, up to about 7 or 8k?
What does 'easy' mean? (i'm currently running about 6.5mph on the treadmill for 5k - so 5 mph maybe?)0
