  • Hmm - same route, same 3.5 miles - OK, what's the mix?

    Becks - mapmyrun.co.uk - I'll give it a go.

Simply - medium/long term targets, yes - that might help too! I'd love to achieve a 1/2 marathon.

i think I did so well to lose so much weight, and to manage to run at all - the euphoria of that is over now, need to improve or set some new goals, and yes, I've used the cold winter as an excuse - but isn't it funny, this plateau doesn't make me happy! There was a time in my life I'd have only dreamt of being where I am now.

    So guys - suggestions?

I'm off to run 2 miles to the gym now, do some weights and 2 miles back - that's a different routine at least. I normally cycle.

    back soon!

Okay, thats what I wanted to hear!:D

The bottom line is that you could keep doing those three 3.5 milers every week for the next 2 years and you wouldnt see much improvement, not just you but anybody. You will maintain fitness but just wont progress much.

I'll do a post over on eRunning in the FAQ section in a little while which will give you the info you need.

And if you want some inspiration, go back to around August 08 and find Becky's first ever post - it was pretty much the same question.....and now she knocks out 20+ milers on a regular basis.:D

  • Well done on the run Lurkio :)

That run must have come as a bit of a shock Idio - well done on getting through it. :D

Hope you're not brewing more buglets Rich - that's a much higher pulse than for last weeks 10k's.

Becky - I've signed up through the webpage in the hope that my email might let a 'reply' through. The damn thing is driving me mad!!!!

I doubt it is any sort of infection, more than likely it is a delayed reaction to Sunday's efforts.

It is very possible that by the morning it will be sorted but I always keep an eye on these things as an advance warning system.;)

When you say 'links' do you mean the training diaries?

The links seem to open in new windows okay.

Perhaps it is my browser then as all the links, training diaries and other external links (in faq etc) won't open a new window for me. Will try later with another browser.

  • I like the news that since a lot of the parkruns are going 'Barcode Only' now, the canine participants are going to have to use Bark Codes.:rotfl:

And I like the fact that the last two 'parkrunner of the week's have come from the top of the 'Most Events Attended' table.:D:D
