That was a lovely run - a nice light drizzle and just the right temperature. And 2 back to back 10 mile races followed by a couple of days rest brings everything back to strength quite nicely!:D
Simply - That was an interesting tempo run. You seemed to have carried on where you left of yesterday in the intervals, pace wise that is. Good stuff.
Tirlittan - Glad you're enjoying yourself. Although its not that easy to turn up to a parkrun and not get competitive. Which reminds me, I need to add your parkrun to the race results on page 1 (although the WAVA percentage will be slightly different to that shown by parkrun. Dont be concerned, its just a different set of world records being used for the calculations).Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Easier when your running fitness isn't that great yet.
Doubt bf is coming with me though, he went to do 5km in the gym, but texted me saying it was "miserable failure" and didn't give me any more details. He's just starting back after couple of 'injuries' that needed time to heal.
Hatching couple of plans for running though...Will let you know when I've decided about them.DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0 -

St Albans sounds good for a 10 miler, nice stepping stone to a half! Everyone thinks I'm absolutely bonkers for considering a 1/2 marathon. i'm looking at May - Edinburgh, seems to be the 'kindest' route! Unless anyone else knows otherwise. Edinburgh is a stupid distance from home, but a nice city to visit anyways.
Becks, 50+ miles in a week is awesome, I wanna be you!0 -
Edinbrough in may sounds good.. puts you well on course for Athens in October :PCabbage Patch 09 - 10m - 1hr 06mLeicester 09 -1/2 - 1h 26m0

Well, first run since my latest illness this morning for me. A 4 mile tempo run. Felt OK, but the lungs felt a bit achey. Even though there's not much phlegm left (too much info?).
Anyway, I hope I manage to stay illness free and finally start ramping up the training again.
I'll ask yet again - Anyone doing a parkrun in Wimbledon this week? If not I'll go to one closer to home (Roundshaw Downs). Surely this is the week I'll finally make it!Running Club targets 20105KM - 21:00 21:55 (59.19%)10KM - 44:00 --:-- (0%)Half-Marathon - 1:45:00 HIT! 1:43:08 (57.84%)Marathon - 3:45:00 --:-- (0%)0 -
Hi all, i thought i would say hello and introduce myself to this thread. I'm a huge Money saving expert forum fan, I've managed to stop smoking because of it, clear a huge amount of my mortgage and saved loads of money on my weekly food shop!!!
Now my biggest quest is coming, i've signed up to run the NY marathon in November 2010 to raise money for my two closest friends cancer charities. Breast Cancer awareness and male cancer. I aim to raise £10,000 from co-workers, friends and family and friends and family of my two closest friends.
I ran 5k last week (the furthest i've ever run in one go) in under 30 minutes and have a 10k BUPA london run in May. I am to be able to do this comfortably and under 1 hour and if i can do this then i will be on course for my marathon.
I am doing this for them and for myself. I've always wanted to do a marathon and what greater motivation than my two closest friends?!
Anyway, if anyone has any training tips/advice/old schedules they would like to send me then please go ahead, i welcome all advice and tips.0
