I love it, the term 'Ipod Zombies' has now become a standard phrase.
It is only a matter of time before this story is repeated in relation to running, with 'Ipod Zombies' being responsible for an increase in deaths and injuries amongst runners.Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Just a quick report on the eynsham 10k yesterday - it was pants.
Think a number of things combined:
1) not having run for ages
2) not having slept more than 4 hours for several nights
3) horrid weather
4) horrible course plodding along main roads
5) laps! eewy!
6) getting there really late and having to sprint 10 mins to the start (was about 100 yards away when the gun went - started last!)
Anyway, after 1.7 miles I felt sick as a dog, completely disinterested and wanted to go home...but plodded around the rest of the course anyway and got back in 49 minutes something (couldn't even be bothered to stop the garmin at that point) - which I think makes it my slowest "normal" 10k to date...and on a course that scores really highly on "PB potential"...(although, that said, I don't think I'd ever manage a PB on a lapped course...just can't do it...)
Not a great race, all told - but at least it got my legs moving a little bit...and climbing later in the day was fun, anyway.
Looking forward to the GRIM next weekend and the pudding run beyond that - think a couple of really good fun races is just what I need to reignite my enthusiasm after the misery of yesterday0 -
Morning all!
Had a good weekend of running that takes my weekly total up to 43.45 miles - it would have been more on Saturday but I'd got to the point (it was snowing!) where i couldnt feel my arms from elbow down so decided to come in and warm up
Great running BJ and Simply0 -
Morning all, hope you had a good weekend - I only managed one run on Friday, 2.5 miles hilly (incredibly hilly!) in 26:15. Was going to run Sunday but had very dodgy stomach
Not surprised you lost the feeling in your arms Becky, I am not entirely looking forward to going out there this week - brr!Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
Morning all.
As expected, didn't get any more running done since Tuesday. Didn't want to take any extra gear with me when I went up to Herefordshire as was coming back on train. But Saturday morning, went for a little 5 mile bike ride to accompany my friend who was riding a horse. Good fun, and the weather was great. Have a cold now, but not too bad, so hoping for a normal weeks running.
Well done on everyone else's runs!DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0 -

At the end of the day he has put £30K of his own money into getting the parkruns set up.....he does appreciate any feedback, especially of the positive type.;)
I had no idea of that! I'll go on the park run site, are there contact details there? Must be.0
