That's simply not true. People may not notice things immediately and the bank will have to act when the matter is reported. If it means going back several months then they will have to.
    Sorry but this is incorrect.
Reporting a card lost will not necessarily stop the recurring payments.

    This is simple.

Quote this if you like. Mastercard Chargeback reason code 4863- Transaction not recognised. Or Visa reason code ( i think 75).

This is the first step to gettting this sorted. I have deal with a couple of these last week. You need to write to your bank or get them to send out the relevant form. You need to state this transaction is not recognised, you are unable to contact the merchant involved and cannot find any contact information for them to identify the payment.

They can chargeback the transaction, if the merchant maintain the charge as valid they will present the bank with the information to valide the charge and telling you what its for...........

Here is where it gets interesting... Either it comes back with your personal details and its something you have signed up for( btw this happens a good 90%) which is fine the bank will sent it to you.

Or if it comes back with Third party details then it will get referred to the fraud department for them to follow their lines of enquiry.

Thru your post it would appear that your bank have keyed the chargebacks. merchant has 45 days to present the bank with the information of the credits stand.

Once chargebacks are done a couple of times the merchant tends to stop even if it is a recurring payment.

Oh and btw the myth that closing your account or blocking it wont stop payments like this is not 100% accurate. It is PURELY down to how the merchant process the transactions, either they are put thru as a recurring transaction, or they are done sorta key entered. This will determine wether a block will do the trick.

    Anyways all the best.
  • I have also suffered from this - 50 euros for each of the last two months. HPMP has a website with an invalid security cert:(can't post as new user) is in french, and is described as 'management platform banking'. I assume this is the company stealing - or being used to steal - from us! ssl-hpmp.hi-media-techno.com
  • i have just had a debit card transaction out of my bank to a hpmp uxelles be never heard of and havnt used my card today is this the same as your transactions

I would think so. there's one or two threads like this that can be googled, and in al cases (that I've found) it's a company based in Brussels. My first charge coincuded with making a purchase on Amazon. That may or may not be a coincidence. (I did get the goods)

My bank are being very helpfull - lost the paperwork I sent back to them to dispute the first transaction! So now they're sending it out again to include the second.
  • Have stopped my card or will that not make a diffrence you said you had two transactions did you stop your card after the first transaction
  • Acording to the girl I spoke to today, it is not possible to stop them taking funds again, as it's ben set up as a repeat payment, & a debit card is guaranted means of payment. When I pointed out how ridiculous it was, she just kept repeating the same litany (scripted). I'l be discusing it in branch tmrw - but don't be surprised if you're hit again next month.

Just checked my visa - £21 charged to my account by hpmp - It took me over the limit so also incurred an overlimit charge of £18 - NOT HAPPY

Customer services in india - cant help so I have to call back tommorrow

update - capital one reversed the transaction without any problems and they will monitor the account every 30 days and automatically remove any future transactions

re post below - think you confuse me with original poster - this was my first post on the subject and just wanted to alert people that this company is still active.

3 months since you posted this -and you still haven't sorted it. Why? What have you done and have you filled in claim forms?
  • I was the original poster of this thread.

I contacted the bank as soon as I saw the first transaction which had taken place on 28th Aug. but I hadn't spotted it until around 10th Sept as I rarely used that card. All the transactions have taken place on or about 28th of the month. The bank sent me the form & I filled it in and faxed it back. By the time I got the form there was another transaction on my account (Sept). Both transactions were subject to a "manual chargeback".

1 month later (Oct) and another transaction to HPMP which I disputed again. A couple of hours after I phoned the disputes dept number, a woman from the disputes dept. phoned me and asked me to send her an email stating I didn't know who this company was and that I was unable to find any contact details for them which I did and she acknowledged the email. Again, the transaction was subjected to a "manual chargeback".

At the end of November and the same thing happened, so I telephoned them again and was told not to worry about it as it was in the hands of the disputes dept. I think it was later that day or the next day that the same woman from the disputes dept. phoned me again to say that they were monitoring my account and that they were aware of the 4th transaction and had done another "manual chargeback". I asked her if they had any idea why this was continuing to happen given the advice from 'gnaril' above but she just told me it was being dealt with and not to worry.

I have since taken money from my savings & closed the credit card account so there can be no repeat this month. I can only assmue that HPMP will attempt to take the money and it be refused and they'll either try to contact me (in which case I let you all know how to contact them) or I won't hear anything about them again (unless I hear from the bank).
