Moorcroft representative calling

Hi all,
I'm in arrears with United Utilities which has been passed onto Moorcroft Debt Recovery Limited, I sent them a letter the other day explaining that in my current financial position I can only offer them £5 a week, they then asked me to provide a breakdown of my expenditures which I did and proof of my benefit income which I also did.
This morning I've received a letter to tell me that my account is being transferred to a local representative who will be making a visit shortly to discuss repayment arrangements.
Does anybody have experience of this, will they be needing to see statements and bills? Why can't they just accept what I've written?

Don't open the door, don't deal with them. Tell Moorcroft you won't deal with anyone at your door.Barclaycard 3800

I agree with Broken hearted; don't let them in. They have no legal right of entry and should be able to communicate with you via post or phone.Even if you are a minority of one, the truth is the truth.0

Thank you both for your replies. I didn't really want to deal with them at my door so thank you for letting me know I don't have to!Kate

Do not let them in they are horrendous. I have a DMP with CCCS and had an account with Next which was passed to Moorcroft. CCCS then contacted Moorcroft and they have never acknowledged any of the contact from CCCS and have since kept writing to me and sent a claim form supposedly from court. They have complete ignored all my letters, phone calls to them and all those from the CCCS then they sent me a claim form from someone called MSL Solicitors (which turn out to be Moorcroft also).
They have now accepted the amount I am to pay them via the CCCS but have added on another £200 supposedly for taking me to Court. They didnt take me to court and I dont think what they are doing is legal so have sent it all to the CCCS.
When I have spoken to both MSL and Moorcroft they are exceptionally ignorant and rude and stubborn so do NOT under circumstances let them come to your home, they do not have a right to entry. I dont know what they would be hoping to acheive by doing this if you have already sent them your income and outgoings.
Is their address in Stockport? P>O> Box number?0 -

thats them, they are awful, write to them again with your income and outgoings and make sure you send with proof of posting.

Don't let them in your house (make sure all windows and doors are locked). Once they gain access...they will have the right to gain access again (whether you want to let them in or not). They're really baliffs. Have you seen the tv programmes of baliffs shuving their foot in the door when its opened. Whatever they say to you, remember that you don't have to let them in.
Either hide, go out, or talk to them through the letter box. Sounds daft, but it does make sense.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move

Thank you all, yes they're the ones in Stockport! I've decided I'm going to hide when the door goes, I never really open the door anyway to people who I don't know so I'll just hide away and let my dog bark at them through the window!!
I have no idea what they're thinking they'll achieve by visiting me, I've sent them all the proof they needed so I'm thinking that maybe they'll be intimidating if they were to gain entry, which is why I'll be hiding!!
Thanks again to all who've replied, you're all stars, I love this site!:money:Kate
