I shall have to use the inside of one of the kitchen cupboards for my paper log of the readings as the cupboard the meter is in, is above the door. I can only just press the button!
All quiet now. DGD is now asleep. She was asleep quite quickly after I put her down. All though she did try to play me up a little.
I am hoping that the log burner is now going to burn for me, as its been a bit of a bother getting it to light,
I have washed up the evening meal dishes. DGD clothes have been through the washing machine/tumble dryer. Not very money saving but I needed them urgently.
A few toys still about the sittingroom, but I am too tired to be bothered now.
Time for a cup of tea before I even contemplate looking at my budget again.
I shall have to go back to making a record of my spends, as I havent been keeping up with the programme on the computer.!! (Sad smiley here!).

Lettuce. I grew lettuce, mostly so the slugs could eat it!!!! But it all bolted, I need to dig it all up and compost it I suppose. Or can I get seeds from it? Ready for next year? Have no idea. I am still learning about gardening.

  • Bails-Thanks. I just can't wait to get signed up now. Mr SFT is waiting for a ring back but might try the area leader again.

Thanks Nyk-Some great advice there. Not sure we'll manage the lettuce without a green house (left ours behind at last property). Garlic sounds really good though, so we'll be growing some.
Waiting to hear back from LETs man. Could work out really well as Mr SFT only works 2 days a week. He obviously would prefer to offer computer support but would do anything within reason.

B*gger! LETs leader hasn't had that phone number for 12 years. Now trying another number. I have a feeling this ain't gonna happen. sft

    Morning everyone,
Thanks cw18 for that budgeting info. I know it wasn't aimed at me but still helpful.
nyk the ferrero rocher thingys, are 5 scanbran softened with a little water, 2tbs nutella/choc spread and 2tbs golden syrup. Mix it all together and make into balls and chill. Though I've made them with crushed ryvitas and choc spread and just done it to the consistency I like. They are yummy and better than going to corner shop for chocolate.

I've just got normal stuff to do today. I'm trying to follow flylady. Not the one in OS but the original. The OS one is just too much cleaning everyday and if I get into Uni I'm not going to have time. So today is Home Blessing Hour. I also need to do a bit of baking and if the weather clears I'm going to do an hour i the garden. I'm really struggling to motivate myself in that area.

Hope you all have a good day.
    Hi
What is a Home Blessing Hour?
NYK- What type of lettuce do you grow?

Has any one got a good recipe for chrizo?

    DS just left me stunned......

He came and mentioned he's expecting a parcel, and after a brief chat it transpired he's decided he wants to take up swimming again..... so has ordered a pair of trunks on-line this evening.

When quizzed as to when they might arrive (ie. what information the site gives on method of delivery) he said it says 'despatched next working day, with standard delivery within 5 days' - so I was firstly amazed he'd checked that. He then continued by stating when he got to checkout it asked if you had a coupon to use - so he G00gled and found one for free delivery :T

Today was day 1 of my second week at work, and about 4:30pm the personnell manager (who was on leave last week) came and found me to ask how I was getting on. As today was her first day back I was pleasantly surprised she'd made time to do this, but was even more surprised when it became apparent she'd already asked for feedback on how I'd done last week........ and it was good news as she said she'd heard I'd done really well for a first week :) Will be heading to bed shortly though, as tomorrow is my 7am start

Ansoff - I g00gled the Home Blessing Hour, and found this on Flylady

What is the Weekly Home Blessing Hour?

The Weekly Home Blessing hour is the time FlyLady spends slipshod cleaning her home. No detailed cleaning required; vacuum the middle of the floors only!
FlyLady sets her timer for 10 minutes to work on each of 7 tasks:
    Vacuum
    Dust
    Mop
    Polish Mirrors and Doors
    Purge magazines
    Change Sheets
    Empty all trash
This takes approximately one hour; some tasks take less than 10 minutes.

I have just discovered that you can wear both tights and leggings under trousers for a dual-body-fuel-capture. As long as nobody works out the carbon cost of Canesten manufacture, we should be laughing.:rotfl: I generally like Lucy Mangan's articles

When I read that, it reminded me of a friend at school who had impetigo, but did not know she had it until *after* she wore tights to school. She was off for over a month _pale_

NSD for me :j Had spaghetti carbonara for tea, which was taaaaasty.

Can't belive the new 4k budget is only 6 weeks away! YIKES! I am thinking I have a free weekend this weekend, so imagine it will be spent tinkering with my figures and sorting out ready for the big move. In theory, I will be back at my parents by the end of January and (fingers crossed), will have a nice agricultural job lined up. HOWEVER - it might have to be voluntary (as have no previous experience, so would feel v. cheeky asking for paid experience), so I will technically be unemployed :( Uh-oh.

Mooloo - I usually hibernate with the lappy in bed when its cold, but then I have an electric blanket. I  it

  • Good evening frunchkins :D
Quiet day here today, haven't ventured far because of the rain so nothing done in garden even except seeing to chickies. Managed to get as far as next door earlier for a quick cuppa with frugal neighbour though :)
OH has painted bathroom ceiling and I have been lining bedroom curtains with cheap Mr A fleeces to help keep out draughts. It makes a huge difference to the room temp, and took minutes to do. I have only attached them to the curtain heding tape with small safety pins so will be easy to remove them in summer. Have also made a couple of draught excluders for entrance doors with the left over pipe insulation and some fleece fabric, every little helps;)
Just watching a dvd with OH now (Braveheart - for about the 100th time:D)
Hope you have all had a good day

    Morning evevryone,
Thanks for posting up the Home Blessing Hour info. You can do 7 things that work for your household.
    I do:
    vacuum
    dust
    general tidy
    wash floors
    swish & swipe

My children clean the bathroom and sweep the floors daily as part of their chores but I find doing that on a monday sets us up for the week.
We had baked bean lasagne for tea last night and I've got cauliflower cheese & bacon for tonight.
Made the flapjack but then had someone come to the door asking if I would do a survey after I'd taken it out of the oven...of course when I went back to it, it had stuck to the dish. DH got most of it out when he got home, what a star! Thouh I did make it for his 'homecoming'.

So, today is 'Errand Day' I'm swapping from Flylady cause today is my shopping day. So, library, postoffice, charity bin and Tesco's for me.

Will take a look for some gardening books etc, but I think it's really just a case of getting myself out there. I'll try and do 15 minutes. Flylady says you can do anything for 15 minutes!!

Hope you all have a good day.

Flylady seems to spend all her time cleaning something! I gave up trying to follow that thread when I was in the big house with all the family. I was too ill to keep up.

I used to dash about in the advert breaks on TV, but I may just about get out of the chair now!!!

(My daughter has a wiifit thing. On Sunday she had me on it. It said my wiifit age was 60! I am only 48!! So I am very concerned. I know that I have sponylosis, but to be that unfit after always having a hugely active life until recently!. Least it said mybodymass was 22 which is fine. Would love to be able to improve on this.)

Have my granddaughter here, so toast and jam for breakfast. Ham sandwiches for lunch. If her Mum is still unwell then we will have to have smethng lined up for tea.
