Hi mooloo. I don't do the Flylady thread off Oldstyle. Its just too much cleaning. They do deep cleans in rooms everyday. I don't want to be spending that much of my time on housework.
I have found that the original Flylady website is much more realistic for the amount of cleaning I want to do! They clean zones over a few days or a week so it means you can either do a bit everyday or do it all in one day and then have the rest of the days free until they start on the next zone.
Anyway, I've found that it seems to work for me!
I'm getting the kinders a WII for Christmas. I'd hate to think what my age would be!

    Good morning frugalers :)

CW, Well done with your work assessment, I'm sure you'll be an excellent worker and should probably be supervising, in my opinion. :D Thinking of you this week, so hope all goes well for you.

Frigaldom has sunshine! OK, so it doesn't actually reach the front of the house anytime between now and about next April because of the way the houses sit, but I can see it and it's reaching the kitchen and back rooms to add a little bit of warmth.

Made soup in the slow cooker overnight using chard, carrots & onions in chicken stock. I've never cooked with chard before, so it should be an interesting experience trying to convince the rest of the household that it's safe to eat. Why are males such extremists? They're either scared to try anything remotely interesting by way of food or else they are cordon bleu chefs who curse the living daylights from anyone who dares to not like what they make! :rotfl:

Hope everyone has a good day. I've caught up with work early again and am planning on playing in the garden for a bit today - make hay while the sun shines. :)
I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

FrankieM, I think I may google that one then!.
would love a wiifit here, but I dont think the budget will stretch. Not when I keep having to bail the twins out. And DS still hasnt had his EMA, so I am gving him between £30 and £40 a week. I just cannot sustain it.! He hd the new War Game thing for his Ebox. That was nearly £40 and he wants the DJ Hero, for Christmas. Then we have his birthday in January. Last year I gt him Guitar Hero, AFTER Christmas. But for once it would be nice to get him what he wants, to actually open on the day!.
Twins are 21 on Thursday. Have still not got them anything.
I was hoping to make them something. But as I am always on the dasharound, sorting the out of crisis from crisis, I havent had the time/or is it the energy to.
Its only 9.10 am and DGD is waring me out already.
Waiting for the SocialWorker to arrive. If she critisizes anything here she will get short sharpe shrift from me. I have had social workers up to the back teeth at the moment. (Sorry for those who are on here, I realise that I am just unlucky with the way things have gone for me and mine).
I have a fewcarrots, celery, and bits in the fridge, so I think that I will be making up a batch of soup or a vegetable casserole for later. If I get the time.
Have still to take DGD back to her mum and finish cleaning her flat That is going to be so hard for me, as after all the work yesterday, my arm is not good. Infact I can hardly move it even to do the typing. Never mind how it was getting DGD dressed a little while ago.!
Mind you she is granny's little darling, such a cuty pie. (Mind you all grans think that!!).
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.

My daughter has a wiifit thing. On Sunday she had me on it. It said my wiifit age was 60! I am only 48!! So I am very concerned. I know that I have sponylosis, but to be that unfit after always having a hugely active life until recently!. Least it said mybodymass was 22 which is fine. Would love to be able to improve on this.)

    Hi,

When we got a Wiifit the 'age' was all over the place until we got used to the tests, so I wouldn't worry that much about it, after a few days it settled down for us, and we weren't doing enough on it for the 'exercise' elements to have been enough to knock 15 to 20 years off in one day!!

Anyone seen this before? Must admit I've not heard of an International NSD but had images of mse being deserted for the day :p

I used this site a long while ago then life got in the way, so apart from walking and a bit of swmming I did not do any exercise until a couple of weeks ago when I was getting weakness in some muscles for no apparent reason. I decided to do some strengthening exercises. I have been able to increase the amount I do and it has had a knock on effect during the day as I don't get the muscle pain the same. I do them on the bed before I get up at the moment because I don't trust myself not to fall over.
I know its American but I like the detail and pictures on this site. I am not elderly but I feel it some days.
  • Good evening frunchkins :D
Quiet day here today, just pootling with the chickens between the rain showers, cleaning out the coop and tidying the pen. This afternoon involved taking up carpets from the hallway and bedroom and cutting, bagging and loading them into the car ready for disposal.
Didn't get around to making a loaf today so spent £1.25 on a loaf from town:eek: also spent £5 on some slippers for OH:D.
Enjoyed a couple of cuppas and chats with frugal neighbour (and some clootie dumpling - delish :p) need to sort something for tea next using last of the traded potatoes and bits of unused stuff from the fridge, before heading back work side later tonight :(

Enjoy the rest of the evening everyone, Mooloo hope DD is better soon and you get a break from DGD. Apologies to those on the diet thread for forcing Nyk to eat cakes and gingerbread this weekend - terrible influence :rotfl:

SM - you are a complete and utter disgrace:D
CW - well done on such good feedback (and on passing on skills to DS:T)

Mooloo - grans are allowed to have very rose tinted specs: it's in your job description:D)

Very tired BB, very stressful day... might be a hot chocolate night.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once
  • Hi Everyone!

I think the LETs situation is not going to happen for us. Nearest group seems to just be too far away. From what we've found out the local groups did so well they resented paying LETs money so withdrew and just trade informally amongst themselves. :(. Been on a Safer Recruitment course today so free C*sta Coffee and lunch for me.
    CW-Well done on the feedback.
Mooloo-Nothing wrong with loving your little GD to bits!
    Blair-Your new job sounds interesting.
SM and Nyk-Naughty, naughty eating all those goodies!
    BB-Hope you're ok
