Hi everyone, caught up a bit but no more time now. Just to say our laptop has died so no access at mo - hopefully they can fix it and not lose all my photos
Head couldn't get through on phone on Friday - none of us know why- and we're meant to be Skyping early this week but with no laptop... Anyway, he said he's determined to talk to me so hopefully I'm still in with a chance...

Nipped into town and have now completely blown my £1200 for the year grocery budget. No if's and no buts about it, no excuses, just plain old buying more than I need so I can stockpile, for fear the prices go any higher. (If anyone's near a C0-0p, they have their chickens on half price!)
Popped into Insanesbury's and am continuing to find it one of the most depressing shops I have ever shopped in barring M&$. It's so depressing shoppping for stuff that you can't buy that you feel like just pigging out on all the rubbish that you can buy! I succumbed to a large packet of crisps and a whoopsied custard tart just to console myself after discovering there was no suet, no semolina, no large pack basics of ANYTHING I needed, no 500g packs of lard and they've now stopped doing the plastic tubs of instant hot chocolate for 50p in favour of a packet at 63p! I so hated that store today! I live in an area where cheap grocery shopping is impossible, I must stop comparing notes with people who have access to large supermarkets. Likewise, I must stop comparing my electricity consumption with households who have modern central heating systems and who don't work from home. Breeeeeath.... climb back down off the high horse...I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Forgot to say about sweet chicken stock - was there anything on the chicken before you boiled it down for stock and did you add any salt?I reserve the right not to spend.

Hi everyone, sorry not been contributing much lately, had a lot of family stuff going on, hopefully mostly sorted now.
Have been reading a bit, can't remember it all now though, must be getting old. So 'well done' 'congrats' and ((((hugs )))) to all who deserve/need them.
Now, which of you is really Lucy Mangan in disguise? - this article from yesterday's magazine sums up how I feel, but couldn't write it as clearly

Not been up to much over the last couple of days as I have basically been housebound with DS2, although I have managed to spent rather alot of money  But that said Christmas shopping is now done :j:j
Sauasge casserole in the oven made with bargain Quorn sausages that I still have boxes of.
Hope everyone has had a good weekend

Hi Everyone!
Lingo-I loved this article. Made me feel very ashamed as we had the fire on for alot of yesterday to dry clothes. We probably could have done it today but who would have known that today would have been sooooo beautiful and I can't wear jeans to school!
Had a great day really. Managed to finish Maths reports this morning-these I always dread the most but seemed to beable to say what I meant today. Went for a lovely walk from our front door, down country lanes then across fields and finally to our local. Always get a warm welcome there and were careful to leave our walking boots outside.
Went to Insainsburys at closing time. It was crazy but managed to pick up the necessaries, bits for a dinner party we're hosting (not that we are posh or anything) and some whoopsied butter scones, TTD garlic and herb pitta breads x2 and wholemeal rolls -all 20p each.
Tidying up still to be done I'm afraid...but then there is always tidying up.
Finances still on the list.
Mr SFT is off to the pub tonight but I'll have the budgie and Mr Tenant to keep me warm..oh and the fire of course...sorry lingo.
Nyk Saves a fortune living near these supermarkets....don't get disheartened, I think you're marvellous!

Good evening frunchkins
Well OH eventually got the loft work doneand I didn't even have to chase him up there with a big stick lol, so everything is winter proofed up there now, and no obvious leaks or wet patches discovered.
Chickens have been having fun free ranging in the garden and BB has discovered a new place to roost:rotfl:Does that make her chicken in a basket
sf - hope you feel better soon
Have a good evening everyone:D,chickies are in bed, fire now lit, curtains closed and we are settling in for a night watching dvd's and x factor.0 -

Oh don't be sorry, if i had a real fire it would be lit, they're so lovely. But central heating's not a bit the same, so I'm snuggled in an old sleeping bag with the cat on m ylap. I have used the heating a bit to dry washing, though not today, and i don't know how much longer i can last really. Got further than last year, so maybe a few more days each winter!0
