Blairweech, We had Sausage and Mash too!.
My BF has decided that he can come over later tonight, rather then wait until tomorrow, so thats a bonus, but I must admit the weather out there for driving doesnt look that good. (He must love me!:D)When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

I haven't written anything for ages because I've been so busy but congratulations to CW for the new job :j glad it's going well
Bails - huge congratulations on your engagement and good luck with your wedding plans -120 guests would scare me:eek: we had 22 and the whole wedding and reception cost us around £2000. We saved money and hours hanging around by getting married at 6pm - it didn't seem rushed either. We got some great night shots outside the castle we got married in.
I've been planning ahead for next year I did some online shopping for my toiletries based on this year's usage -and a couple of Xmas pressies- and spent £68 - but got £12.56 in points. I've done my budget and managed to include more in my £4000 for 2010. I've still got over £400 left in this year's food budget so I've cut next year's down to £1000 and included my home insurance, life insurance, car tax, and £10 a month for leisure activities (as well as mystery shopping income).
So all I have left to pay is my mortgage, council tax and car insurance, holidays and Christmas. Judging by this year's mystery shopping income I should have enough to cover birthdays and Christmas next year and my car insurance.
Has anyone got any frugal recipes for salmon and lentils? I have lots of both plus frozen carrots brocoli and cauliflower - getting a bit bored of steamed salmon and veg"I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better." Paul Theroux0 -

Good morning frunchkins:D
Wet and windy here this morning, will definately get OH insulating the pipes later and then need to nip into town to top up the electric. Lots of carrotty based cooking and preserving to do today, and another batch of carrot and lentil soup to make also for preserving. Need to get the pressure canner on the go again.
Have a good day everyone0 -
Morning everyone,
Its sunny here, though windy. I'm going to have to get myself out into the garden today to get these raised beds cleared.
Have to take DS into town this morning and want to bake some jam tarts to get rid of some of my 'bits' of jam. I've been meaning to do it for weeks.
I got an email yesterday to say that I'd been invited for an interview for a Uni course I'd applied for. Its a Business Foundation Course that starts in January, for 12 weeks. Then in January it leads into an Accounting course for 3/4 yrs.
I thought they'd forgotten about me or I hadn't got in and now I'nm going to have to make a committment and I can't decide whether I should really do something thats more practical....I hate these kind of decisions!
Anyway, hope you all have a good day, no matter the weather or what you're doing.0 -
Hi Everyone!
What a miserable day! Although I'm sure it is worse in other parts of the UK.
Unfortunately we need the lights on in this kind of gloomy weather. At least we use the energy saving bulbs. Our washing was in front of the fuel burner last night and some bits are still a bit damp this morning. Gone are the days of drying on a radiator.
Does anyone know whether we are still able to use unfranked stamps? I know its naughty but we got one today.
CW-Glad the jobs going well.
SM-Loved those pictures
Well the plan for today is- Write History reports
- Finish other little school work bits.
- Tidy up - 10 piece pick up again.
- Go to gym this afternoon.
- Ironing
- Book our trip to South Africa/Swaziland for next year. I don't know if you remember but we are taking my Nephew. I think it was the Zulu battlefields and wild animals that swung it!
- Check ebay.
- Check finances.
- Check food budget/meal planning.
- Read my new book.
- Read some of Moby !!!!!! with Mr SFT-we read a page each to each other. This is an old tradition started on our first holiday together in Devon when we'd sit outside our cottage with a glass of wine reading Treasure Island. Wonderful memories. But it has to be the type of book that Mr SFT will enjoy.
- Check MS website.

How romantic, reading a page of a book to each other, what a lovely thing to do0

Good morning, we have the windy, torrential rain type of weather and my second load of washing just finished, so not sure how long that lot will take to dry.
SM - I didn't realise you had a horse until 2007, I'm sure I wouldn't have forgotten you telling me about that... why are you so anti-horse now?I would LOVE to have another one! What on earth were you doing with it that it cost so much to keep? Was it a racehorse or competing? See? Now I'm curious and wanna know more RIGHT NOW but can't come ask 'cos your car's gone from front door, guess you've gone into town. Hmph! :rotfl: I'll be so disappointed if you say it was a typo and you meant HOUSE because I'm now living in hope of your coming pony trekking just as soon as my silly legs get better.
Sorry folks, I'v totally lost the plot on remembering what everyone was saying, as I'm horse daft! But I'm glad Lynda's OH accepted the offer on his flat and I did take a quick look at the lovely cream jacket. (I'd be terrified to wear something that colour. Pale shades + NYK = disaster waiting to happen :rotfl:)I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

aaahhh! Thank you!
Bails-How did the chat with the head go? Is Mr Bails back soon?
Lynda-I meant to say congrats too. Selling property can be very stressful so its nice that you've sorted the flat out. More energy to concentrate on the big day!
SM-Horse.....why am I missing things like this?
Mooloo-Can't seem to get link to jacket but I think you are sooooo clever.
We've reserved our places on the trip! :T Just as well as there are only 8 places on the flights (the rest of the group have to book own/arrange transfers-not really what you want to do in Jo'burg) and we've now taken 3 of those. Not a prob that nephew will only be 17. I actually did this trip about 8 years ago and when we walked out of airport there was Winnie Mandela coming in with sooooo much luggage. That was a highlight in itself. Need to get a new passport-shame as I love all the stamps in my present one. Cost £77.50 plus £3 for special delivery.
Right off to tackle those reports.
