At least that's not something they can use to pressurise you for rushing the sale through then ;) Just dawned on me it could potentially be an issue, as several new blocks of flats around us would just be nudging into that bracket!!

That's one reason I don't see the point in down-sizing my property...... a much smaller but relatively new one (no older than my house, which is 7.5yrs old) would cost most of what I'd get for mine after paying all the expenses involved as well :o A property somewhere between the new flats and my house in size but which is a lot older would be cheaper, but I'd then have to find the money for windows, new roof, re-pointing, insulation etc !!!

Just managed to catch up with this thread!.
My coat is finished. Actual cost to make was £19. Not including my time of course. I am pleased with it. Something similar may be about £80 to £100.
DS needed some new clothes and we ended up having a visit to Mr T at 8am this morning!. Managed to get 20% off of the clothes so saved £19.20 on their offer).
Now at least DS has a decent coat. I am lucky that DS doesnt demand designer clothes!
The morning has nearly gone. Managed not to light the fire here, but my feet are cold. There is a terrible draft. But I am sitting with a fleece jacket on and a fleece on my knees.
I better get on and do somethingelse, there are so many things I should give my attention to.
Good luck in frugeldom, to all. I am still failing to keep within my budget! But it is better controlled then once upon a time.!

    Good Afternoon

At home with a very poorly DS2 today _pale_ No update on the woodland yet as it is still in the hands of the solicitors, I will try and post a link to some pictures when I work out how to do it :o (they are on facebook though if anyone is on there)

Work is looking a bit shaky at the moment so I have taken the plunge and I am registering as a childminder  and :j I already have one little boy lined up at the moment and possibly 5-6 for a hour in the mornings.

Better go as DS2 is shouting for me.

I haven't had time to catch up on the thread yet but hope to later, just wanted to update to keep myself accountable.

NS yesterday. Today I've done some grocery shopping and spent £9.45. I definitely need to learn to do one big shop, which means more meal planning. £29.80 left in the grocery pot, I don't think I'm going to quite manage it.

Back later, hope everyone is having a good day.

There was a bit of this

    some of this
    weekend007.jpg
    some of this
    weekend017.jpg
    some sweeping of chimneys
    weekend004.jpg
    more of these :D
    weekend011.jpg
and lots of cuppas and chatting and bartering with frugal neighbour, loft lagging will have to wait until tomorrow:rolleyes: Enjoy the rest of the evening everyone, might do some baking later if I can tear myself awy from the fire.

    Sausages and mash for tea.
Easy comfy food, with a bit of onion gravy. (Onion from garden too)

Your day looks lovely sophiesmum. I would love to spend my day doing more of that kind of thing but I struggle to motivate myself away from the computer.
I really must get my raised beds cleared at the very least this weekend, though its raining at the moment and I think its expected to keep raining over the weekend.
Anyway, today for me has been a no spend (yay!) but I've not really got anything done.
I had some mussells with pasta that I had made and frozen for lunch and its made my tummy a bit funny. I have one portion left in the freezer and I should really throw it away but as it hasn't actually made me sick, I'm thinking I could manage to eat it! How crazy is that.
DH is away this weekend. I really need to get my act together and get some stuff done.

Mooloo - Would love to see piccie of your coat if you are willing to post one

Am curled up at home, listening to the awful weather outside. I hope everyone stays safe tonight. Winds of 75mph apparently. Also hope I don't have a power cut!

Right off to make sausage and mash for tea :D OH is coming over shortly, imagine we will just watch a film
