I got a great nail buffer from Avon for £1.50, looks much better than a manicure I think and it goes on forever - NIM even asked me to shine up his nails too!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
Debt September 20th 2022 £2991.68- 96.92% paid off0 -
Nice fireworks Cinny! As always your budget looks sensible but with room for a bit of fun and/or make up
Flower, hope your OH doesn't have to work any more hoursIt must be really horrible that he works evenings and weekends too. My OH has been working away Monday-Thursday for aaages and although it was quite nice for a while, I'm getting a bit fed up of it now... But at least we spend quality time together at the weekend

:rotfl:Bless him. I have white tips on mine which is why i need to get them done properly, should really get them taken off would save £18 every three weeks if i took them off.
Poddle - i would hate it if OH worked away like that, but thats what it feels like at the minute! Sometimes i feel him getting into bed in the early hours and then it seems like hes getting up to go again after only a few hours!Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -
Loving the fireworks Cinny! Budget lokos doable, are these the savings for your board next year?
Sig's looking very good Poddle!
Flower I know what you mean, sometimes I wonder why we on MSE are working so hard to try and pay off debts/save up to avoid debts when so many people aren't bothered at all. I don't go into finances with friends anymore - we're sort of too old and it seems taboo now - but I look around and see the things they're buying and knowing the jobs they have, unless they're heavily subsidised by parents they must be in debt up to their eyes. When I had £3k debt I couldn't sleep at night thinking I'd never get it paid off, but some people just don't seem to bother!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Tete i agree we dont even attempt to talk to our friends about debts anymore. If we ever say we cant afford to do something or go on a group outing some of them just look at us like we're insane. But then we do have quite a few friends who live at home and dont seem to have any desire to ever leave the comfort of their parents house!Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0

Ewww! No plates is not a one day thing cos you feel rubbish, thats a several day thing and just ewwwww!
:rotfl: I only have 4 plates, so that's one meal for me and OH, toast in the morning, and making sandwiches and then they need washing again!
Flower you sound fed up *hugs* For what it's worth, I definitely think you should use your savings to pay off some of your debt. Although it will suck a bit that you don't have any savings, it will great seeing that you're closer to paying off your debt! I'd definitely talk to your OH about it anyway
Cinny the budget looks good! And I'm sure it will work :jTotal Debt (Dec 2015) £11,500 : Currently £7,675Lose 21lb : 0/21

You know me all too well
Flower - Awww, That is so cute of your OH! If you were to get the tips taken off you should buy some Nail Magic to make your natural nails all lovely and strong again!
Want to speak to OH tonight about the planned new budget. I'm thinking £50 will be enough to cover us if OHs petrol money is low, if not we'll just have to be really frugal!0 -
I really should get the tips taken off but sometimes i think it actually saves me money having them on. When i have them off i spend so much money on products to strengthen them, but nothing ever works and im ashamed to say i end up biting them all off!
I just spoke to my best friend from uni, was on the phone to her for two hours! Was telling her absolutly everything and i dont know why but i got really emotional about the whole debt thing
Im so glad im not on a diet because i have just sat eating loads of chocolate feeling sorry for myself!Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -
Hope you're feeling a bit better now you've now had a vent to your friend Flower
Did anyone watch Don't Tell The Bride tonight? I loved her dress and the castle! But the two of them did my head in - he was awful with money, and she was so moany. I hate it when the women on there moan the whole time about not being able to choose stuff, when they chose to go on there and get given £12k! :rolleyes:Total Debt (Dec 2015) £11,500 : Currently £7,675Lose 21lb : 0/21

I am actually feeling better. She helped put things into perspective, made me realise i have two options; either be really frugal and pretty much have no life but clear the debt quickly, or cut ourselfs a bit of slack (not go mad though lol) and be in debt for say an extra 3 months.
I missed Dont Tell The Bride - was on the phone, i normally always watch it though!Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0
