the retune on freeview is supposed to help people get channel 5 so it is ironic that after retuning this afternoon we have lost channel 5. listings for the channel are now on channel 800 and when we put it on that channel we get a message saying it has moved and we need to retune.

I get the feeling theyre having some 'teething' issues and it will be sorted in time
I tried retuning around 10 (Stupid of me), and lost channel 5. Then retuned again around 12:10 and got it back again. From what ive read im under the belief its an ongoing problem:idea:0 -
Channel 27 is tuned in BUT says has moved to 33
Channel 27 and 33 listed as ITV BUT 33 is ITV2 +1 not ITV
Channel 89 has appeared "news" but no broadcast.
They can't even get it right with all the publicity0 -
could they have weakened the signal for channel 5? i ask because as our aerial isnt very good we have never got all the channels on freeview but we have always had channel 5 until todays retune.0

would a manual retune help rather than doing the auto retune?0

Apparently on the radio it said to wait until after 2.00 to retune, I seem to have lost 1-5 on my pvr so I'm leaving it until later.0 -
Not that its of any comfort to you guys but I've just retuned two TVs, a Sharp and a Digihome, and a Panasonic DVD recorder with no problems.
I just let each set do an auto retune.
I'm on the Waltham transmitter in the east midlands. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
The place to look for a regularly-updated list of Freeview channels, stations and the Mux they are on is the Radio and Telly website...0

Five was always hit and miss on ours before the re-tune, will try it tonight and see if it picks it up...0

Just retuned our Sony TV (built in Freeview) and another Sony freeview box, worked first time on each, five now perfect reception, all other channels are fine. Not much help to those with problems, but considering the poor reception we get sometimes, the Sony boxes are well worth the money.0
