    Hi Martin.

If my Dad was to claim Pensions credit would he have to claim for coubcil tax credit also. My sis and I pay this so he will not go for the pensions credit as he is embarresed that he can not afford to pay his council tax and that we have to pay it.

So basically does the council tax credit automatically get processed with the pensions credit application or shall we just not fill that one in and he can just try for the Pensions credit?

    Thanks,

With the exception of CAB who else can help you find out what sort of benefits you may be entitled to claim and where would you contact these people? Thanks.

I only realised today when filling out the Tax Credits renewal form that I'm pretty sure I have never (!) told them about my husband's personal pension with CIS in the 'reductions' section of the form. Of course, I can't be fully certain of this it's just that I have no recollection of trying to calculate his annual payment to the CIS in order to enter it on the form.

I was going to ring them and check but I'm slightly worried I might open a whole can of worms! However I am wondering whether this would have meant we should have received more than we did, and also whether this would in turn mean that we would be owed a backdated payment from them?

Does anyone know? I am attempting to use this calculator to check what we are entitled to in the meantime

We are entitled to housing and council tax benefits but if you take tax credits this falls away so what you get in the one hand is taken away in the other. Just seems a no win situation although I would much prefer being gainfully employed than relying on the state to pay my housing etc.

Hi I am looking for any advice as i have no idea where to start, 5 years ago my hubby and i sold up and moved to spain, our children (grown up) settled and working remained in the u.k. we were planning to return to the u.k when disaster hit. my hubby had a serious accident has had countless operations, needing more, we now find that our plans to return to working life in the u.k are out. We still want to return but as we have no idea about benefits i dont know what to do... my hubby is unable to do anything for himself, shower dress etc.. Please help where do i start. Financially i have just enough to get home,

    Warmest Regards
