I think it'll probably look like spinach - or spinach beet or chard is a good catch all for green stuff! Do let us know how it goes and what it tastes like!0

Well I am here but should not be as DOH has taken our visitors to the airport and I am in the middle of ironing and blogging --- and supposed to be cleaning as well but it is just tooo hot!

evening all me again,
After an awful start the weather has been beautiful so I have spent the whole afternoon in the garden digging out, trimming and tidying.
DS1 came over with DGS after lunch .... so me and the little feller went out into the garden. I found him a little pair of gardening gloves that DGD's use when they come up. He loves being outside helping in his own little waybut it does'nt matter as long as he gets loads of fresh air and enjoys himself.
kathy - I think everyone knows how I feel about ironing;) but I have loads to do for MIL and I have to get it done before the weekend, so I will do the usual and time limit myself, surprising how much I get done that way, does'nt make me like it any more but it makes me feel good
Naked and walking around in his birthday suit hmmm... my OH could'nt do that his birthday suit's all wrinkled, O maybe it needs ironing :rotfl:
Off to sew some things up, then start something new...what I wonder shall I do next
enjoy your evenings all
Anne

Well the later part of the evening did not go to plan. Went to pick in the last bit of washing - locked myself out on the terrace and thr mossies had a feast til DOH returned from the airport trip to rescue me. Rather an extreme and very uncomfortable way to get out of the ironing !!Try and do a good deed every day.0

Hellooooo:wave: I`m still here.
Had a stinker of a cold all last week and it`s still hanging on. Sniff, sniff, cough cough. You know the type.
Head was even stuffier / woolier than usual. Sinuses, head, throat - you name it - it ached. So I`ve been feeling down in the dumps and sorry for myself. Wish you could buy an attachment for the hoover to suck all the gunk out of the various tubes. Sorry - too much info.
Time to try and catch up with life now that things are a bit clearer though.
Surely been a bit quiet here the last few days - thought there would be more to read through.
Sockknitter, hope you are enjoying your hols and the weather is being good for you.
While you lot were enjoying warm sunny days, we had cold and rain !!
Fine here today though and managed to muster up enough energy to get the washing out and dried.
Shezmit - sorry to hear about your Mum. Try to make the very best of the time you have with her, storing up happy memories and taking lots of photos to look back on. Big hugs for you all.
Mrs moneypenny - I am sooooo glad you forget the names of things too. I was speaking to DD1 the other day about decorating and was talking about that thing, you know what I mean, it goes round the top of the wall or round about the middle sometimes - you know the whatsit thingy !!!!
`Border, do you mean Mum` she said. The very word I was looking for - it was THERE, right on the tip of my tongue - I could feel it sitting there !! Think I`m going doolally as it`s been happening a lot lately.
What a great bargain you got at the boot sale, I never seem to find anything like that here.
Chalky - ouch, ouch and thrice ouch !! The midgies here are bad enough, never mind mozzies. Had a week in hospital a few years ago when a horsefly decided to munch on me after having horse sh*t for lunch (according to the doctor anyway) badly infected foot which swelled up to the size of a football nearly, thought the skin was going to burst  was dosed up with penicillin cocktail to fight it and turned out to be allergic to one of the components - beautiful red rash all over body, everywhere. What a sight I can tell you.
Kathy - glad to hear your deadbox has come alive again. Hopefully when you get the destructions in the post you will be able to administer the necessary life saving actions if it goes again.
Right, have rambled enough so hugs to those who need some. Plenty here for all. Sleep well all.

Evening everyone.
What a terrible, terrible day it's been for us here in south and west Cumbria. Things like that just don't happen in places like this - well not until today....... unbelievable.......
Please remember all those affected in your thoughts and prayers.
Take care all.

Hi all. Yes, it's early - I woke up and couldn't get back to sleep.
Linedancerann - I can't begin to imagine what the people in your community must be going through at the moment. I actually had the TV on when the first bulletins came through and could hardly believe what was happening. I've visited Whitehaven and the surrounding area and know what a lovely friendly place it is; to think that that was happening there was difficult to comprehend. I have been praying for all those poor people and their families on what should have been just another normal day. It made me angry when I heard that the gunman had taken his own life, too cowardly to face the consequences of what he had done. My heart goes out to the whole community and I hope that they can one day start to recover. They have had a dreadful year.

Chalky - now, if that had been me, I would have been alright! Mozzies don't like me, but they love my DH, as do other biting stinging things. I hope you're not feeling too bad.
Elaine - hope you are feeling better now. Sounds like sinusitis - have you been to the doctors? (Although it sounds as if you've had enough of antibiotics after your horsefly experience.) It's good to hear from you - hope Jayden is well? Will look forward to that photo!
I did a bit more of my crochet throw last night but not much because we didn't sit down until about 9.30pm. I don't know where the time goes these days. I was ready to sit down much earlier but DH needed 'your help for just a couple of minutes' to re-hang a door - it took ages and involved some inventiveness with a few tools. It's hard to explain but, if you could see how the hinges work here, and the awkward space the door is in, you'd understand! It was like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole!
DH keeps most of his tools in a barn that's attached to the house. We have a couple of swallows nesting in there - they use the main door to get in and out; although there's a little window that we keep open for them, they obviously find it easier to use the door. DH likes to keep the door closed overnight just to keep the tools safe (although crime is virtually non-existent here), so he closes it up late at night, and the swallows wait on the guttering above the door for him to open it up in the morning. They chat away to him as he opens the door, then fly in like little Spitfires as soon as it's open. I think we'll have to start leaving the door open all the time to make life easier for them, especially when they have babies. We have loads of swallows here and they put on a lovely display in the evenings when they swoop over the fields catching insects.
Pippa - glad you had a good time in the garden with DGS.
Well, I think I might make another cuppa and go back to bed. The thing is, if I do that, I'll oversleep and we have a busy day later on - we need to cut the grass at the holiday home we're looking after, then buy some more materials, amongst other interesting items on the to-do list!
Anyway, hope everyone has a good day - will catch up with you all later.
