Hi everyone. Just posting to say that I am still here, but feeling very sad that my DS2 and his lovely lovely little family left at 10 this morning and are now safely on the boat back home. I felt very sad this morning and sobbed on poor DH's shoulder for a while, then, because I was worried about their long drive back to the ferry terminal, threw myself into tidying up the house (leaving some little bits of evidence of their visit visible to cheer me up!) and then enjoyed the company of friends who popped round for a cuppa. I shall miss them all a lot but am so thankful that they made it here and back safely, and that the weather was so good during their stay, and that I ignored the housework and just made the most of them. I have some wonderful memories and almost 200 photos!

ISOM - sending lots of (((hugs))) to you and your Mum.

Shez - (((hugs))) to your Mum.

Elaine - hope DD's MRI goes well.

Jean - have a wonderful trip and please please drive safely; I know what the French drivers are like! My DS2's philosophy, having been driving here for a week, is that you just have to keep out of their way! I love your Bosie of Bears!

Chalky - thank you so much for your pm - just the words I needed!

I shall catch up with you all tomorrow and treat myself to a good read of all the posts I have missed. Right now, I'm off for another consoling cuppa!

Thank you all for your kind mentions during the last week, and have a great evening.

ISOM I'm ok, thanks for asking. Glad to hear your mum is a bit happier, have they given any indication of what might be wrong? It's so worrying for you, and I know you'll be able to think of little else. Good on you for taking crochet with you, I can't quite understand what your doing wrong to make it wavy, poosibly you're just too tired? Cats wont care though. Hope there's some good news soon. ((Hugs)) to you and your mum.

Mioliere, you have all my sympathy, it's always such a wrench when they leave. Love the idea of leaving little bits of evidence of them, such a comfort. On a very selfish note, it's lovely to have you back here. Nice that the weather behaved too.

    Love to everyone, xxx

Good Morning to one and all
Been a bit busy since our return so you have been saved from the usual Chalky Wordiness!!!

ISOM -- I am thinking about you and hope that things soon improve with your Mum--- Lots of hugs for you too!!

Can I just send one of our woolly hugs to anyone else who needs one and of course a special one for Jayden and psso I am sure he is growing so much already -- Love and cuddles make them grow fastest methinks!

Kathy Hope you have a lovely day full of warm memories and a bit of Skyping!!

Jean have a wonderful trip and anyone else travelling/holidaying.

Also hope house move is going well Mrs M

Well my very favourite daughter in law of all time ( I only have and hope to ever have 1!!) arrived with a big bag of very random squares. She is a technician in the textiles department of a school which is moving to a beautiful new building in September! So we looked arranged and are in the middle of another joint lappy project-- How lovely!

DOH also known as the Sporty One is supposed to be doing a sky dive this afternoon ( Birthday present last Nov from all the kids)--- I WOULD NOT EVEN JUMP OFF A PAVEMENT! But at the moment the weather is vile so we are hoping for an improvement after lunch. Could be a long wait though so I shall take some hooky stuff.

I sent for the book 200 squares for DDIL'S First wedding anniversary present and had a good read of it in bed last night -- Have I the patience I wonder?

Well I send lots of love and gentle thoughts to you all and hope the sun is shining in your backyard!!
Try and do a good deed every day.

Afternoon all! Sun s shining here chalky...hope it is for you too. Spoke to hospital am and mums temp is down which is good as shows infection is going - no doubt she will be impatient to leave lol! Kinsey shes had penumonia/pluerecy for about a month and just couldnt shift it plus didnt rest (shes hopless as stopping) so now has a solid infection at the base of her left lung which made breathing hurt and her not able to talk much...
I had a great sleep - went back to bed after brekkie and slept until 12! Going up this afternoon but will leave 7-8ish so she can rest! Will see if I can find a simple pattern for cat bed on here before I go...I suspect I started in the wrong place and its run on from there
Hope youre all having a lovely bank hol! IYKWIM!

    Hi All
ISOM are you remembering to do the ch in between the stitches you're doing to make up for the spaces? Hope your mum is on the mend.
Shez, hope your mum is getting better too.
Glad you had a lovely time with your family Mioliere.
Rather your DH than me Chalky!
Kinsey, the more I watch the political "debates", the more I am convinced that your suggestion that teaching 'em to knit is the way forward. Hope you are well.
Jean is now on the road - hoping you have a smooth journey.
Will update next week as will hopefully have finished SANDS blanket by then.....
