 hi girls, I`m not stopping just now - have to `taxi` the young `uns but just thought I`d pop in and give you all a treat.

Prefer Maltesers (or my Thorntons toffee) myself. Whenever I got chocs the coffee ones used to end up in the bin :o although I like to drink the stuff.

    Hi everyone
Firstly I hate any of the cream chocs. All our family do so we used to collect them all and deliver them to the little boy who lived next door!! At a push and a real " I need chocolate " moment I can eat an orange cream!

Well I think I may have a new addiction. I am finding out a lot about myself in this retirement and creative crafting journey of mine !!!

    I love new ideas
I fear I love the finished product better than the making. In the sense I love finishing things best!!
    I love really quick things
I get completely engrossed in things I am enjoying
I have 10 fingers plus a crochet hook!!

Anyway am loving the Babette idea. It reminds me of card making!!

Lots of love to you all .Big virtual hug for your Mum SunnyGirl
Your Mum is amazing Pippa . I am sure all of us who are not lucky enough to have our Mums by our side anymore are like me and love to hear about yours!Hugs Pam

    Shaz Hope things are brightening.

    Lots of love to all

CHALKY SQUARES --- It helps enermously if all the ends are sewn in but a tail of the final row colour is left to help with the sewing up

re; ‘one of ds's is allergic to them’
I'm sadly allergic to some dogs but couldn't live without them !
None of my dogs have ever gone upstairs etc but I wondered if you'd considered a poodle cross
My youngest dog is a none moulting cavadoodle and he is really super, it's fantastic that I can cuddle him as much as I like & it doesn't affect me :j:j:j
He spends lots of time lying on the bed with me because as you know I have M.E. he's got a great nature
I love all of my dogs but it's so nice to be able to have so much contact with him & not have to think about it all the time
I was also thinking that as well as being
beneficial to you, it might help the boys if they had a dog, as they are so therapeutic

Re;’ Do you have cardiac rehab classes in your area ?’
I was asked if I’d like to go to the gym for exercise ...........
I wouldn’t need any encouragement to do all the things I used to do if I could get rid of my M.E.
    They just don’t listen

Just finished another 60 chains for
shezmit & another couple of squares

I think this is a great idea for anyone, but especially for people who may have only recently started to knit/crochet & would like to complete something more than a square

oh the babette blanket was truly lovely - if anyone does one i would love to see a pic - i wish i could get the hang of crochet one day ..........

To all those that take the creams out of a box of chocs :p - your the reason we dont get them anymore :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:- i will be interested to see how roamin got on with making some yummmmmmmmmy

Well at the moment i decided as i like the corner to corner squares im knitting four squares sew them together for blankets for shezmit and LH - I like small things that finish quickly and whenever ive made a small blanket i get bored half way through (attention span of a knat!) so am trying it this way - 2 colours opposite corners we will see ...................

morning all, hope everyone is ok, feeling brighter myself helps that the sun is out, always feel better on a sunny day.
bought some more wool yesterday, it needed rescueing :o. its hayfield fantasy bonus, knits up as fair isle, dosent say baby wool tho, even tho it is pastel shades, and very soft, does any body know if it would be suitable for babies, or should it have baby on label for them. if it isnt suitable for babys i'll make some toddler sized clothes with it, as i did by rather a lot, but it was too much of a bargain to resist.
almost completed a premie cardigan in 4ply, just the bands to do, wish i lived near chalky, i could knit, and you could finish them off :rotfl:
got physio this morn, but planning on knitting this afternoon. should be doing the dreaded housework, but if i take my glasses off it dosent look too bad lol
kathy, hope your enjoying your trip to see family
pam, not seen you posting for a while, hope you're ok,
may, hope your getting plenty of rest
jaqui, how is ds doing at school now, hope everything is settled for him
    hugs all

Good Morning to one and all
I love reading everybody's posts (born nosey) so if you are feeling up to it please drop in so that we can all catch up with each other.
Kathy --- Hope you are having a wonderful time!

Well I love the Babette idea and am going to use my practice squares as the centre for another Lapacuddlyghan and add super quick ordinary rows for the border.
I finished another lappy the other days still using odds and sods and it is bright and cheerful -- not very subtle!!

Off to do the exercises and a coffee to recover. So will pop back later but love to you ALL
Try and do a good deed every day.

    Good morning.

I'm having a day in the house today so hopig to gets lots of crochet done. The bunting didn't get touched yesterday as I was so busy again then tired when I got in.

I enjoy the making of things rather than the sewing up although it's so satisfying to see it finished.

Got to hoover now as someone had muddy shoes on this morning & it's predictably all over the living room & kitchen floors. It was Mr Nobody again though as all my lot obviously would have cleaned their shoes last night signcensor.gif

Have a good day everyone & massive HSbow126420.gif to all.

  • Morning all -

Good old traditional "cold and frosty morning" here today; but didn't realise how flipping cold until I took DS to school!!

Anyway, here I am - seeing lights at the end of the tunnel I have been down for a while now (long story, but this is week 2 of 3 weeks being signed off work from the docs) - I am due back on the 23rd.

Have been good on the not buying any more wool until I have used my stash up - although it doesn't seem to be going down any. That's probably because I have decided that I am having a MAJOR declutter and clearout (coupled with the fact that we are having some more insulation in the loft in the next 6 weeks, and there is no way the men can get in there to lay the stuff!); and tackled the walk-in cupboard in our bedroom yesterday whilst DH was at college and DD at Grandma's with DS at school. I knew there was a lot of stuff in there, and loads of it being clothes I knew were there but obviously never wore (we had put a huge rocking chair in front of the door and I can't remember the last time we opened it!!) Anyway, come the end of the going through everything, there was a grand total of:

8 garden sacks of clothes to be either freecycled or charity
5 garden sacks of rubbish.....good job binmen are coming today!!!
1 garden sack full of shoes...

Oh - and I found a black binbag full of wool balls too...

Plan now is for DH to go through his wardrobe and transfer everything to the walk-in cupboard - then I can go through mine and have my wardrobe AND his!! :rotfl:

Am in the process of making my little brother a beanie hat for his birthday on friday using some Sirdar Peru I found (gorgeous to knit with; 60% wool, 20% alpaca and the rest acrylic) which will do the job nicely. If he doesn't like it then that's his problem, not mine!

Ah well, need to go change DD nappy (tmi there - sorry peeps) and get her off to sleep.....

back laters and big hggles to all when I've caught up with you all.

Shaz - was it the pinkie coloured Bigga stuff that arrived for your mittens?!

    Dawn xx

Hi all, hope everyone is ok today,
reading so much about coffee creams has made me think about trying to make some.I love all those type of chocs, orange, raspberry, mint and especially violet creams (very expensive). Might have to have a look around to find a recipe.

ISOM, those blankets are lovely, so colourful. I love them.
Shaz, hope you’re feeling a little better.
Sunnygirl, hope you’re mum is better today.
May, those quilts are so cute thank you.
Shez, little parcel on it’s way to you.
Pippa, it just goes to show, you’re never too old to learn, I think that’s brilliant. What a trooper to struggle on with a broken hook.
Does anyone remember the link for those modular squares we all did like a log cabin effect? I've lost loads of stuff since my computer crashed and can't seem to find where they are.
It's very cold here today, so hope you all keep warm
hugs to all who feel low or poorly
