Hi all,
had to reply to say boys with hollow legs... have one of those!!
last monday night he surpassed himself... went round a friends for play and tea after school, came home and promptly ate a SECOND full tea AND second afters. Definately eats more than me every day of the week and is skinny as a rake - sometimes i wonder why life is so unfair when he can eat 3 big pieces of cake at one sitting and still have room for a large glass of milkshake and a few biccies whereas i just have to look at a small bowl of ice-cream and it jumps stubbornly onto my hips snarling at me ferociously if i try to get it to go away.
oh well...
hugs to all xnever play leapfrog with a unicorn...0 -
Chalky the squares are like granny's but you just go straight along the sides and inrease in the corners as normal, no gaps.Hope that makes sense0

Morning all!
Just a quickie before I go to my Mum's as the poor thing has a urine infection and one of her wounds is infected too so she feels rotten. I'm going to have a quick clean through & do some ironing. I'm looking forward to seeing her.
Babette Squares Being new to crochet I don't understand how to do them. Has anyone got a link or pattern to a simple one please? When I read that they are like granny squares minus corners I get very confusedAny help is much appreciated!
I started the pink bunting last night & it's coming on nicely. Hopefully I should finish that this afternoon all being well.to everyone.

Late AGAIN, that's me running last as usual, bit of a busy morning. We got snow overnight - not loads but enough as stuff up this mornings plans, back on track now.
Just had a long chat with my sister, "could you make some clothes for the dolly" grand daughter has a nude pair of dolls. Will tackle that one later, as you have now all mentioned the coffee cream chocolates I feel I should go and investigate recipes on the internet and see if I can make some, even if they don't taste or look RIGHT I am determined to have a go.
I am sure that Kathy will be having a great time, just hope she packed plenty of warm clothes!
Back a bit later, cuddles to everyone, sending good vibrations out from here

Afternoon
Went to Mums this morning to take the shopping over for her, the doorbell went and her friend Amy came in with a ball of wool and a hook in her hand so you can guess what I've been doing, yep teaching an almost 90 year old lady how to turn corners with her crochet. I gave her one of my hooks as she has been struggling along with a broken plastic one.
She's doing ok too and has picked up how to do DC but cant manage Trebles yet, thats next weeks lesson.
I got there this morning and Mum was happily knitting away at a scarf for the lady in charge, it takes her a while but she said it helps with her arthiritis. She's asked me to knit a matinee jacket for the deputy's new DGD, so I am off to start that in a mo.
Could'nt get on with that Snuggly Bubbly after all, dropped a stich :eek:and could'nt trace it, just ended up with a big hole, so its stuck in a bag waiting to be sorted out.
f1 - looks like there is a queue for the coffee creams:rotfl:My idea of heaven, coffee creams or marzipan yummmm
ISOM - those Babettes are amazing, got the bug now I think I'll try a small one
SunnyGirl - awww your poor Mum I hope she feels better soon
salome - the blanket is lovely and the snowflake jacket looks so cuddly
k2tog - nice to see you back, hope the chaos is sorting itself out
shaz - well done with the mittens, hope you're feeling a bit better today
may -
Chalky - I keep meaning to ask do you want us to leave tails on the squares
off to make a :coffee:then sort the knitting patterns out and get started

Oh man! It's all about the nuts. I'll raise you your coffee creams with my nuts any day (I hate coffee) :rotfl:
Snow came suddenly this morning, but has mostly disappeared now. Trouble is it's just supposed to get worse over the next week
Done another boat load of ties for Shelly, and a couple of squares for Chalky, but have been shopping for birthday presents for niece and great nephew for next week.
Hope everyone is doing OK today, and the sad ones are feeling a little happier.
Take care.
