    Corsa LPG Dual (from new) bought 'used' for approx £500 more than a petrol only model would have cost. Saving me -on my respectable 12K miles per annum- about £1200 per year.

    I'd obviously save a lot more if I needed to go into the London CCZ every day or every week but I don't so that is purely a saving on fuel costs.

    I'm not so sure - has LPG prices not went up by something like 60% this past year? If it continues like that there will be little point in converting soon.

    I think that ship has pretty much sailed now - much like when diesels first went mainstream and diesel was cheaper, whereas now diesel is more expensive.

    LPG duty is guaranteed to rise by no more than 1p more per litre (compared to petrol) for the next 3 years (I think) it was 5 years from a certain years budget I forget which year it was.

    LPG is currently less than half the price of petrol

    petrol 111p l + 2p in budget = 113p
    lpg 48p +3p = 51p

    After 3 years
    petrol = 117p
    lpg = 57p

    Still half the price whatever way you look at it, and you get at least 3 years happy motoring saving ££££

    After that, I doubt they will substantially increase LPG duty in respect to petrol duty.

    If you were not talking about duty rates and just on pump price
    My LPG has risen from
    39p 2 years ago
    (petrol was what? 95 - 99p ?? (lpg 59% - 60% cheaper) ) to
    48p now (petrol now 111p(lpg now 57% cheaper))........
    that's not a 60% increase. It is quite a lot of % increase, but that is because an increase in duty on this fuel and suppliers milking the profits can and has raised the cost significantly but the cost will always have to be significantly lower than petrol to make it worthwhile or they will kill their own market. They are not stupid.

    That ship is definately still docked and won't sail for a long time yet, get on board!

    i have admit, LPG wasnt really worth it for me.

    LPG not readily available for me and i do 120 miles a day. so a tank lasts a day and a half and i am usually 30 miles from a gas station, meaning i still use a bit of petrol. i end up most days filling up with unleaded over the road from me and then stopping 20 miles away,

    rather too much administration.
