"After 4 weeks
We will aim to complete our investigation within 4 weeks of receipt of the complaint. If this is not possible we will write to let you know what we have done so far and how much longer we believe it will take"
As I had not heard from the PPI Customer Care Team I thought I would call them on their direct line, they seemed unconcerned that they had not followed their own complaints procedure. They are waiting to allocate someone to the case etc etc. It would be dealt with within the 8 weeks etc.
So basically they are ignoring their own complaints procedures by failing to comunicate......I am sure that when they do make the final offer....just before Xmas...it will not be for the full amount
(Letter to FOS already drafted just need to dot the "I's" and add the banks complaints document ready for reciept of the banks final response).
For those who have been following this thread Humphrey has got plenty of determination and staying power for this reclaim. :rolleyes:It is a Camels temperament that has truly endeared the camel to man.
Docile and sweet under a caring hand.
But stubborn and angry if ill treated.

I have just recieved a letter from the RBS PPI CCT, 25 days after the date of the letter  stating that they needed another four weeks to gather info.
Now I would like to give them the benefit of doubt and maybe blame the postal strike etc which would also allow the impression that the bank are following their own PPI complaints procedure dilligently......
However .... At the date of the letter I had not been allocated a case officer as stated in my previous phone call.....The letter date was also a Sunday :rotfl:and there was no signature  but the case officer was named.
I expect their full response next week.....
Has anyone else had such strange letters?
P.S Humphrey has a new hobby now......collecting letters....He's very good at it!It is a Camels temperament that has truly endeared the camel to man.Docile and sweet under a caring hand. But stubborn and angry if ill treated.the camel both wins your heart and your respect.0 -

No further communication from the RBS CCT......Humphrey has waited patiently for over eight weeks. Complaint and all relevent information has now been sent to Financial Ombudsman Service.
Just shows that banks are unable to follow their own procedures, I have stated in my complaint to FOS that the bank has not followed it's own procedures and basicaly dosn't care.
Humphrey is now spitting mad.
It's strange how you get 7 days grace to study your bank loan details when you take it out,but it takes a bank over eight weeks to gather information about it.It is a Camels temperament that has truly endeared the camel to man.Docile and sweet under a caring hand. But stubborn and angry if ill treated.the camel both wins your heart and your respect.0 -
RBS sent me a letter today stating that they are still gathering info after eight weeks, the letter said that I could complain to FOS.
I rang FOS and said that I had emailed my complaint to FOS on the 8th and wanted them to know about this letter. They were very nice and gave me a reference number.
I callled RBS again and had to explain to them that as they had done "Nothing with my complaint and had not followed their own procedures" I had registered my complaintwith FOS andmy FOS ref No was.......The tone of the call had changed they would get a specialist advisor on my case etc,I said thanks for the info but it is FOS that you need to tell.
I am not holding my breath......will keep you posted. It is a Camels temperament that has truly endeared the camel to man.Docile and sweet under a caring hand. But stubborn and angry if ill treated.the camel both wins your heart and your respect.0 -

A quick update, FOS about to assign an adjudicator but RBS Have just made me an offer (Conveniently) which would repay £4k ppi premiums already paid and remove the remaining ppi of £4k from my loan. Effectively reducing my debt by £8,000
I am considering my options!
3 stamps + 20 sheets of paper + 4 envelopes......approx £5....... Should I reclaim these items........(Thats how much it can cost to reclaim).
Options Options Options this still has some way to go!
For those who have followed the thread so far, Humphrey says hello and thanks for all the great support. (He's the most polite camel that I know:))
