  • Well, I am hoping not to spend any money on groceries this week - someone bought me a few items over the wkd. So hopefully stay within my budget for the month. Not only have I noticed financial benefits from following this challenge but other benefits as well -

I have lost a few pounds so I am getting my waist back.:rotfl:
Skin is looking better as no longer buying "lots" of wine each week and I mean lots..
For the same reason, seem to have got lots of energy.. I kind of jump out of bed rather than struggle out with my eyes half-closed..
Only 1 takeaway this month - hopefully that's all it will be.

Wish I had done this a lot sooner:rotfl:

    hi all
just adding an update for this month!!

total currently at 226.66 leaving 23.34 (till the 27th)

i include all food items in this total and tolieties/ cleaning / washing / nappies & baby milk/food for 2 adults and 2 children (2 years and 8 months)

i has been a really expensive month for baby milk!!! lol we used on avaerage about a tub a week of cow and gate stage 3 approx 6.95 week (approx 28.00 a month) but our baby has been very poorly throwing up all feed and food for 4 days!!! this made his stomach so upset that even now 2 weeks after the illness he can only tolerate pre mixed milk (the ones in cartons) and not me using the powder and mixing it myself!!

very confusing but we are starting to weaning him back to using the powder now!! and a good job 2 the cartons cost approx 1.06 each!! over the last 2 1/2 weeks i have spent 45.00 on baby milk!!!! ( he increaed his feeds as he was refusing food!!)

but he's better now and all will be soon back to normal thank god!!!

still happy with my spend so far!!!:D

even though its close to my limit i only have to think of what i spent in aug 534.00!!! before i started this challange!!!

does anyone know of any nappy incentives in the west yorkshire area that could help me lower my nappy cost i would use washable nappies at home if it would be more cost affective??

  • :cool:Should only need to do 1 more shop at the weekend and its just me and DH next week as DS and DD will be as kids will be at hubs parents (half term break) so should be a cheaper week using up freezer contents!!

Had to have car fixed on Friday so worried am going to overspend on credit card as was trying to keep it as low as possible to save extras for Xmas and holidays. Also had to pay deposit for double glazing so its meant we have even less this month so its even more important to save some ££s.

Need to make choc muffins (kids didnt like peach muffins) hopefully get some stuff on ebay next week

Food wise should only need F&V, milk and bread so hopefully will be under budget fingers crossed
    Sep GC - £465/£400:rolleyes: Oct GC - £401/400 ;) Nov GC - £ 291.32/400

    Hello everyone,
DH has done the cooking tonight -a sort of chicken stir fry but with pasta really yummy. The positive side about being incapacitated is that hubby does the cooking :D NSD today really, had to send out for some extra strong pain killers and DH came back with a bag of sweeties as well, but he paid for those -so not out of the budget. Also DH is getting very well trained in the art of making two dinners -one for eating and one for the freezer, so it's slowly building up again. Even so, can't wait to be up and around properly again. Hope everyone is well and the budgets are going well.
    Have a good evening

Can you believe that I have been on october for 3 weeks, and my first grocery shop was on saturday?? I am sooo pleased with myself :j (although I was out of the country for 10 days so really its not as great as it sounds )

but anyhow, it was all pretty basic stuff, and I spent in total after discounts etc, a total of £45.09

This includes some nappies that I bought for new nephew (I joined the baby club when he was born, and got extra points for them, plus the free baby hamper thing) so it was kindof a present that I benefited from!! ;)

I reckon that after the baby stuff for the qualifying points, I would have only spent £25-£30 quid so I am impressed that I have done so well despite buying non essential stuff!

anyhow, off to update sig now!!
