We had a dyson, it was great for a few weeks, but bits seemed to fall off and break pretty quick.Put up with it it for a few years taped up and half working. Finnaly got a new one a few months ago from B E Direct with free delivery it was around £90. It's great realy pleased with it , I've just looked now and it's even cheaper than before ,I'm sorry I dont know how to send you the direct link.

Thanks everyone for the inputs.
My Dyson is held together with Gaffer tape so probably not a good idea to go for another one.
I am sure my mother had a Hoover for about 100 years that seemed to work OK. What happened to reliability and Durability?0 -
My mother in law is still using the Hoover she got when she got married about 45 years ago!!!
But think how much they cost new in those days bet it was a weeks salary!!!0 -
The insurance (Domestic and General) on our Dyson paid out in full during a visit to the repair shop. The Dyson had had problems with the brush bar mechanism and had been back for repair a few times, but on this occasion it was the plastic on/off switch that failed. Dyson were unable to source a part to our repairer (nominated by the insurer) after 3 weeks of waiting. Following a conversation with the insurer, we were paid out in full (£230 at the time) and I promptly went out and bought a SEBO x4.... Very happy with it....0

I am very happy with my SEBO too ;D ;D ;D"This site is addictive!"

I bought my DC02 (cylinder) in 1995. I have vacuumed up: nails, screws, wood dust, wood splinters, wood chunks, paint scrapings, beads, pet hair, thread, metal splinters, glass shards, concrete dust, twigs, etc. It has been serviced once. I have never liked it, but it keeps on going.0

Yes, SEBO for me too. I like the fact it goes from carpet to lino to wooden floor to tiles - all without switching any switches. Great.0
