Like Jo, I'm trying to get there a few areas at a time, while carrying out lightning strikes on other areas.... My kitchen, study and bathroom aren't too bad; but the sitting room and bedroom are clutterpits. So tomorrow shouldn't be too bad (bathroom and study); but all I've managed from Tuesday is:

Tuesday ~ Living room, Hall and Stairs
    Level One
[STRIKE]Declutter the floors.. make the stairs safe and the hall clear[/STRIKE]
Vacuum said floors (not yet done l/r).. and [STRIKE]up the stairs.. it looks so much better when you have clear stairs[/STRIKE]
Went round the pale grey/green living room carpet with 1001 troubleshooter to get out about 80 splotches of brown stain left by the builders over a year ago. I had assumed that - as this was stain for the ceiling beams - it wasn't ever going to come out. So I was staggered to find it has all lifted and gone within 15 mins of application. I'm kicking myself now to think that I've lived with this (and cursed those wretched builders) for a year, when it would have been so simple to sort it out....
    Level Two
    Wipe the sofas
Wash any soft furnishings that are in need
Wipe the paintwork.. inc. the inside and out of the front door
Watered the plants and tidied the leaves up, and sprayed the greenfly!
    Level Three
Clear all the paperwork into a box or bag, clearing those cluttered surfaces
15 minutes filing.. from above box/bag if you just filled one! Elsewhere if you didn't!
Dust and deweb those corners and mantel
    Polish the glass and mirrors

    Extras
    1. [STRIKE]Wipe the hand rails, banisters and spindles[/STRIKE]
    2. Clear and tidy up all the bags and coats and shoes
    3. Update spreadsheets.. end of month so a lot of you will be being paid.. but we all have more than one! I always do this on the 1st of the month, so will be gone tomorrow
    4. [STRIKE]We need to start running down our cupboards to make room for christmas bits so make a cupboard inventory and incorporate what you can into your meal plan for the month![/STRIKE] I've had a freezer/cellar challenge running for the last 5 months: more important than Christmas to me is freeing up enough space to store this year's jams, bottled fruit, chutney and frozen produce from the garden. We've had the most ingenious dishes created from old packages of unidentifiable frosted meat whose labels dropped off a year or so ago....:rotfl:
My plan is to set my DH and DD a HHC this weekend (well, they loved it so much last week...;)), where they help me declutter their stuff from the living room (particularly the hell-hole known as "DD's HOME-WORK CORNER OF DOOM").

Then, perhaps, next week I'll be able to make some real inroads into this room instead of just fiddling around the edges....

Meanwhile, does anyone know any good tricks for removing one year-old magnolia matt paint drips from a pale grey/green wool carpet? The 1001 didn't shift this - and I'm worried about ruining the carpet if I'm too aggressive...

    Love to all, especially Mudbath

just to say the new job flyladies were in my thoughts (as I drive to work usually) so Greenbee and Quillion good/nice/luctrative job vibes winging your way...

Have just prepped a soup for the SC from the chicken carcass, all veg etc in fridge and shal assemble and switch on tomorrow. This is flying - I am 'winging it' with this one as I am not sure if it will work! House will smell good unless it burns LOL

    see you tomorrow night!

Thanks sweety. I am having a great time. I was so busy today mboss reminded me it was lunch time and i had not even looked at the clock before that.
My feet are really killing me though. I am not used to standing up all day and the soles are burning. Anyone got any tips to help ease this.

On a Flying note i did the kitchen yesterday but only so i could get the stuff out of the living room so my BIL can come to decorate.
We have a difect route to the sink and the kettle anything else and your stuffed. For some reason the limited space did not click to DH as he put our tea in the oven. I thought we were having take away. I am glad we have not though got to keep on track. Will update the siggy strip in a min.

I have not caught up with the thread and do not have a cat in hells chance of doing so. Hugs for all who need them and i will try to get back into my flying when i have got a normal house. I estimate at least another two weeks as i need to give carpet man a weeks notice.

Valli Did your friend find a Venue for the wedding??

I got all the crap out of there, hoovered properly then washed it so there's nothing tasty if the mouse decides to come back. I also made DS1 hoover his room.

  • Meant to ask -

Who do I return the silver mule to?

It's quite distinctive: size 9 1/2 , with 'Go Faster!' stripe...

    Yours, Toots?;)

Mrs Chaos this is the best stuff I've tried for getting stains out of anything. My DD2 'decorated' the stairs with lipstick. When the carpet cleaner came round, he couldn't shift it, but that stuff did. :D Good luck.

Just popped on to answer that, sorry if I've posted in the middle of a drama. :D

ETA : caught up now, and relieved to read I haven't posted in the middle of a drama!! I usually do if I post before finishing reading! :o
