Just trying to decide if I should go out and pick all my remaining tomatoes in the dark as frost is forcast.

  • Mudders (((hugs))) thinking of you all, and sending healing vibes to your DS. I really hope they sort him out fast. I'm very concern for you all, and know how horrible it is having your LO in hosp. How far away is the children's hosp they're thinking of transferring him to?

Thanks everyone for the good wishes. :D I really do enjoy my job. So, it's time to take the plunge and crack on!

I am now sufficiently instructed on safety in the lab so can be let loose with a petri dish lol..

But how about the bunsen burner? :D:eek:

I'm pooped. All paint now stripped off floorboards, just need to wash the rest of them down. That may take some time!

Have my pension man coming round in the morning for a 'consultation'. He'll get a consultation alright! I'm going to tell him I'm cancelling the direct debits because, quite frankly, I'd be far better off projection wise if I invested the same money in vintage wine (as long as I made sure I didn't drink it!)

DS2 decided tonight to 'have some lipstick fun' on our stairs carpet.

Fortunately we are not going to walk on it, since it's on the vertical bit of the step. I've got no idea how to tackle the stain  and don't want to get it wrong, in case I make it worse. DS1 tried sudocrem on a burgundy red carpet once, so I imagine this might be similar, but it's quite a strong colour.

    Any suggestions welcome!

Flying wise I've achieved little since Monday. Yesterday was a late night at work and tonight there was a parents' event at DS1's school. I sat on the settee with DS2 when I got in from work and promptly fell asleep :o , so there was only enough time to see to tea before I had to be out again. Now the house will have to wait until tomorrow, because there's some stuff I absolutely must do for work tonight.

I'll just have to drink my cuppa stood up when I come in tomorrow and keep going. I'm determined to get at least one star this week, if it takes until Sunday to get there.

Best wishes to all and good night.

    Evening all,

Hugs to Mudbath and your DS, i hope he starts to feel better soon.

Great news Zara:j i bet you're so relieved.

I don;t think i've done anything off my list today.

I got up this morning and was walking down the stairs when i saw a baby mouse running down them:eek:. It disappeared and i went to tell Ds1 who was downstairs when he saw it run back up the stairs into his room:mad:. There's a small hole in his wall where the fireplace used to be, which was blocked up with cardboard and parcel tape but he'd taken it off when he moved his room around. I think that's where it came from initially. I was searching Ds1's room for this mouse incase it hadn't gone in the hole and i spotted something under the bed. I told Ds1 to keep his eye on it while i went and got my mobile to shine under there. He was saying Mum it's a sock and i was adament it was the mouse, i said i can see the ears . ( It was a sock :o). We couldn't find it so i'm hoping it went back through the hole which is now blocked up. That's the first mouse i've seen since i've had my sonic device.

After all that palavar, i took the boys to school and Ds2 to Nev's house. Then i got ready and went to my Pre interview thingy. I think i did ok, the proper interview is Monday so i suppose i shall see what happens.

Then i went for lunch with both Sisters and Ds2 and Nev came over afterwards. I had to clean my kitchen and bathroom floors as i knew the mouse had been on them. I don't have kickboards in the kitchen so to get right under them is almost impossible so i usually wave the hoover nozzle and mop in the general direction:rolleyes:. Under there i found about 3 cherry tomatoes, a shrivelled pepper and potato:eek: it was disgusting. I got all the crap out of there, hoovered properly then washed it so there's nothing tasty if the mouse decides to come back. I also made DS1 hoover his room.
