MSE single parents thread

After living alone with DS for so long it was a huge shock to my system to have someone move in with me, i think my lack of experience in living with an adult would have contributed to our split in some ways.
Beeniecat, this is one thing that scares me. I've never had a partner since becoming a mum and can't help but think I'd struggle to live with anyone. But for the time being I don't have to worry as I don't seem to be able to find anyone, either. So even though it's not worked out I'd luv to hear how you met your partner as a single mum.
Is your DS excited about becoming a big brother?0 -
i have been single for eight years i can't imagine having to accommodate another adult i did briefly have a few dates with someone and he rang me a lot but to tell the truth i didn't want the phone ringing every night it drove me mad, i hope this doesn't mean i am destined to be single foreverITV comp winner no 410

When I was a single mum, although I had internet access, I didn't know about MSE, and I didn't really use it socially.
My friend (no children thou) has just joined mysinglefriend.com. I wrote her recommendation. I like what I have seen so far about that, although she has just literally joined and so it's early days.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -

As a new single Mum I'm only just finding out about clubs like this. Do you have a website address or more info. Don't quite feel up to this at the moment but would like to know more. Thanks!!:D0 -

Well i think my problem was that i'd never lived with anyone at all! Apart from my mother and i was out of there by 16 lol
The reason i found it so hard was probably more due to the fact he'd come out of a marriage and i felt under pressure to be someone i wasn't, and i was just 22 at the time.
I met him through work, i started work in a hotel as soon as i left school and when having DS at almost 18 i went back, he was my manager for some of the time so in all we've been friends for about 8 years! I also wondered how i'd ever meet anyone because i never went anywhere exciting enough for anything to happen, but i had a couple of boyfriends from work in the time i was there.
DS is excited and he's being so sweet about the fact it's a girl, and will eventually have to share a room, he's already suggested doing the room pink and blue which i thought was soooooooo cute cos he hates pink!!
Another thing i thought of tonight when picking DS up from his friends house, was that as soon as i got talking to his mother i waffled a lot and i do have a habit of telling people too much about myself - i think it';s because i hadn't spoken to anyone adult all day!! So be wary of doing that lol.0 -

Just google SPTC ...it costs £10 to join but it is non profit making and ...it's well worth it if you can save costs for group holiday's
I've been away on several members holidays and also organised a fair few too.
