Morning all
Gloriously sunny here this morning...shall make the most of it and get out for a walk this afternoon. Shall be avoiding anywhere with escalators though after DH's legs and feet went complete numb as he was about to step on one yesterday....he just couldn't work out how to use his legs.
Roast chicken for lunch today, I do love a good roast.
Need to get cracking with my christmas cards too...I shall sort out my craft stuff during the week, got 5 more sock monkies cut out and ready to sew, going to make some lavander bags as I've got a glut of it and maybe some different sized wheat/rice bags.....oh and some wine bags...made out of sleeves of old shirts and suits. I also need to make DD's an "animal" of some sort - a christmas tradition....last year they had fake suede platypuss'..."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -

Yep they go in the microwave. You just need to make a simple oblong bag (or whatever shape you want) - half fill with wheat (works better but harder/more expensive to buy) or bog standard value rice and sew up the top....I then make an outer cover to pop it in to look nicer (also can be washed then). I add lavander too as it always smells so nice when it's warmed up. (try and only use cotton or poly cotton fabric on the inner bit as you don't want anything that's going to melt if it overheats)
You should really stand a cup of water in the microwave along with the bag when you heat it to stop the rice or wheat drying out, so I always do a little instructions card to go with it.
I made some long ones to go round necks, some tiny pocket sized ones as hand warmers and some big ones as bed warmers, last year, and they went down really well."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -

Just thought I'd "de-lurk" for a minute
Bookie made it safely downs to the wilds of Essex & has just been round for a coffee (& a homemade blackberry breakfast bar), she's gone now to collect her Great Aunt.
Hope you're all well
