    Hello everyone,
NPM - Hope you start to feel much better soon? How did you get on at doctors? My son took ages to recover from swine flu. I took him back to GP and she said up to 6 weeks:eek: Having said that hes was significantly better after a couple of weeks but still needed lots of sleep and rests. Thank goodness it was summer hols or I dont know how we would have managed. Dont worry about work.

Im sorry but Im so down in the dumps again today. Im so anxious and worried about everything. My older kids do and say things that worry me so much and its so hard to cut off from it because I always end up picking up the pieces and i just cant do it anymore...sorry.

Hopefully my group will give me some strategies to cope with worry and anxiety. I kinda enjoyed it as there were some nice people there who I think will become friends and I need to network again.

Im organising my jobs today as it really worked last week and i was ahead of myself for the week.

Hope everyone has a restful sunday,
    Molly x
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
  • Morning morning - did you have a liein this morning MSD?? Starting the thread at 6am!! Good for you if you did!
I slept horrendously - I only had 2 glasses of wine last night and woke up at 4am with the most horrible beginnings of a hangover - feel okay now. Snoozed on the sofa till 6ish when the kiddies got up.
The cinema visit has been cancelled due to their poor behaviour yesterday - DS(6) understands but DD(4) doesn't seem to as shes just been caught messing in my room with the small amount of make up I have. I really don't know what to do with them!!

OH is currently whipping up a fry-up, a rare treat for us nowadays! For budget and health purposes.
Am wondering what to do with the egg whites left over from yesterdays carbonara tea? Any ideas? Oh and can I subsitute drinking chocolate for cocoa if I'm making chocolate fairy cakes?

Later I'll be hoovering upstairs and down, cleaning the kitchen and sorting the clothes for next week.

Am going to nip to Asda later too and buy a small flask so I can take soups to work next week too.

Hope everyone has a nice relaxing sunday and happy birthday wishes to Mr MSD.

    Morning all,

Happy Birthday to Mr Diva .

Its beautiful here again today, got the bedding in the wm will get it out on the line.

DD is off out with her dad today to watch one of her brothers play football, and to go and see another brother who has just announced his engagement.

OH and I will probably get out for another long walk, yesterday we got lost in the woods , and ended up walking miles out of our way, we did find an old derelict church in the middle of the woods, it was beautiful, will try and put some photos on facebook later.

Pasta for dinner today, dd is eating out today, so we will have our roast tomorrow.

General tidy round this morning, and then off out to enjoy the sun.

    Have fun all xx

Gert - meringues with the egg whites, think there's a thread somewhere about other things you can do with them? And yes you can use drinking choc, but taste won't be so strong and it'll make the cakes sweeter. Hope kids calm down today!

    Molly - have a hug hun x

Right on with the twinks now! Left girls to finish sitting room, but won't be long before their fingers are in the hobnob mix!

I had a nice time at my friend's house last night, even though I was on the soft drinks cos I was driving. It was her boyfriend's birthday (I used to work with him so know him well) so it was mix of his friends and her friends. We had nibbles and sat in the garden with candles and solar lights. It was lovely to catch up with everyone.

OS wise the WM has finished and washing is on balcony, however it's still a bit chilly out and the sun is weakly trying to poke out from behind the cloud, but it should get sunny soon.

Some friends and my cousin are running the local 10k race today, I may go cheer them on, but I also feel like a bit of a pottering round day. Flat needs a tidy and vacuum.

    Have a lovely day all!

Hi there all, started my day at 6:30a.m. found D.H. had vanished from the marital bed. Went downstairs to find him stretched out on the "New" three seater settee. (We picked it up yesterday morning from the e-bay seller. Our first three piece suite had a two seater setee, so when HE got restless and needed to sleep elsewhere, or read, he used to coil up on that, and get worse quality sleep than if he'd toughed it out with me. The OLD suite was a 1930s one, this one is so much more modern, being a 1950s one)
He went back to bed leaving me to start the day by finishing off yesterday's Guardian, sipping fresh coffee, and eating a pain au chocolat (from the frozen haul from the company shop) O.S. and luxurious.... to me anyway.
We took my mum to a Harvest Supper last night, which was a really sociable event. (Eee I know how to rip it up on a Saturday night in Yorkshire!)
Still haven't got me any blackberries, so I hope to combine a dog walk with a forage this afternoon. D.H. & D.S. probably finishing the carport roof for winter this p.m.

Eve meal has to include trifle as I've assembled all the bits and they need eating up. If I add gravy does that absolve me from conjuring up a main course?

    Morning all :hello:

Don't need to cook today as we are off to the inlaws for lunch. Am hoping its beef, MIL does the most amazing beef roast...

Kids will be off to Sunday school in a bit, giving me peace and quiet to get the house in order before we go to inlaws. Also need to make some Corned Beef Pasties for OH's lunches, plus some Twinks Hobnobs, and also some Leek and Potato soup if I get time.

Need to pop to town on way back from inlaws, DD is getting a bit long for her cot bed sized duvet (she has a toddler bed, inherited from a friend with older children) and I have seen a nice girly duvet cover set in Argos reduced to £6 so have reserved it plus a cheap full sized duvet, so will need to pick them up. Second trip to Argos this weekend, went yesterday to pick up the last "big" Christmas present, a Nintendo DS for my eldest, bought using some money off vouchers I had with my Argos card. Only got little stocking fillers to get now, plus need to finish knitting, sewing, jam making etc!

Had a big sort out through my clothes yesterday. Was sorting the kids stuff out as they are having a "Bags for School" fundraising thing at the boys' school where they get a certain amount per tonne of old clothes etc. Anything decent I pass on to friends with slightly younger children, but it is a good way to get rid of the more worn/stained items that you wouldn't want to pass on. As I was in full wardrobe emtying mode I decided to go through my stuff too, putting my summer stuff away and getting out jumpers and warm stuff and seeing what goes with what. I then hung them together as outfits. I now feel like I've got a whole new wardrobe, without spending anything!

Hope you all have a good day x

MIA yesterday - seemed to spend the day taxi-ing kids all over the place. Went to neighbour's 50th party last night too.

ATTENTION MoneysavingDiva (at least, I think I remember it being you?!!!)

BARRY MANILOW IS ON DESERT ISLAND DISCS, RADIO 4, 11.00 A.M.

O.K. the rest of you - it's safe to carry on reading now!

OS today includes ironing, gardening, making tomato soup (got three tubs of single cream YS in the co-op yesterday for 12p each!), roasting chicken for dinner, making trifle for pud, doing next week meal plan, tweaking grocery budget to see if I can reduce it any more. I am still ploughing my way through the Complete Tightwad Gazette and am still amazed at the hundreds more ways I can save a bob or two!

    Have a lovely Sunday.
