The laptop crashed 20 min ago.
Dont think it overheated since it feels fairly cool to the touch. I just restarted Malwarebytes again
Hows the Hijackthis log looking?0 -
Actually, some people seem to be reporting that Firefox isn't working properly for them either. Any indication why is crashed from the event viewer? Could well be a virus.Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0

My laptop just crashed again so I'm on hubbys computer now, gonna let the laptop rest for tonight (sigh)...
Shouldn't Avast have notifyed me if there were a virus? Have not heard of Firefox playing up lately, any ideas what's wrong with it?0 -

Did it crash at roughly the same point in the scan again? It sounds like you have a problem.
There's no antivirus that will pick up absolutely everything, so it's possible that something got through. Try Superantispyware instead. Again, update and then run a full scan.Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0 -
And there's a thread on Firefox here:

But it doesn't seem likely that it is firefox though in this case.Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0 -

Just done the superantispyware and it found two Trojans. My original problem though is still there so I'll try Malwarebytes again0 -
Well get the Trojans removed and then try Malwarebytes again. You may need to run superantispyware again.
And you should probably turn off system restore otherwise they'll just keep coming back!Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0 -
The quick scan took 4min and showed nothing but the full scan on Malwarebytes crashed my computer again. Any suggestions what to do next?0

Restart, turn off system restore and run Superantispyware again. Then remove everything it finds. (That is if it finds anything new.)Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0

I guess I should turn system restore back on again?
My original problem still remains though.... Still get the little square popping up every so often saying an unidentified program wants access to my computer called uninst.exe0
