It is highly unlikely to be something that is affecting other people aswell but rather something specific to your pc

Yes, Mozilla Firefox kept 'crashing' on all 5 computers I had, just removed it in the end. Might be a certian plug in or something but I couldnt be bothered to mess with it because there's other browsers out there that do a better job (cough)
  • I uninstalled what I had and downloaded latest version, I've used firefox for a few years now and this is the first time I have had a problem

I had serious problems with all the versions from 3.X onwards - seems to me to be related to using RSS Livemarks. Firefox 3.x stalled out one of the CPU cores on my PC.

Tried all the various fixes (clear cache, switch off Java, edit the about:config settings, switch off Flash etc., etc.) over several months but in the end I reverted back to Firefox 2.0.0.20 (last release of version 2) and Firefox again works like a charm.

When version 4 (or whatever it is called ) is released I will have a look again but I am not going to use any of the version 3 variants. Oldapps.com has the old versions of Firefox for the PC and Mac but I think I found my copy on the Mozilla.com website.
  • the problem may araise because of few add-ons too. do you install any add-ons?
  • would add-ons not of been uninstalled when I uninstalled firefox?.

i hve a problem with all browsers, they just won't open websites, but other programs like skype still work. When 1 browser goes the others even if not running at the time will just not load pages either. I use firefox mostly. I have the same problem with another machine but XP will shut it down, but Vista wont shut it down even in processes. A restart or sometimes a hard shutdown is required to get the browsers working.

I have avast, Zonealarm, Spybot, Vista Home pre, Firefox 3.5 all upto date. I have uninstalled Zonealarm avast spybot but problem still persists,
It does happen more oftern if I watch youtube or other sites with streaming video.

    Any ideas?

there is 2 ways. if you upgrade firefox to latest version add-ons will not be removed. If you uninstall the software viz add-remove programs then add-ons will be removed.
