    Afternoon folks,

well it has turned out lovely and sunny so i`ve done a second lot of washing and it is now all out on the line, shouldn`t take too long to dry.

The houndies have been walked and i ran DH to work and then went to pick Dad up so the supermarket run is now complete - not sure why but it was totally packed in there this morning and quite a few of the things that i wanted were missing from the shelves. I will need to nip to Asda later in the week and pick up a few things that i still need or refused to buy as they have shot up in price again  Morrisons own bread flour has gone up by 10p and the yeast that i normally buy has gone up by 19p, the dog food is about 80p cheaper for the amount that i get for the week so i can see me starting to be a regular at Asda again.

I cleaned an artexed wall earlier in the bathroom and one of the areas near the loo has very small pieces of mould on it - or should i say in it, no amount of scrubbing is bringing it off so does anyone have any suggestions? I can only think of dabbing neat bleach onto it so if anyone can think of something better then please let me know.

The grass on the back garden will need to wait until later to be trimmed, i lost my footing earlier and now have a rather attractive scrape down the side of my wrist, quite painful too so i think that i shall have an hour on the sofa and then when i`m properly awake venture back outside.

    Have a lovely afternoon everyone!

  • hi all

still blooming ill:rolleyes: am fed up of it....feel so tired after the swine flu and now I cant walk around the house without getting breathless.
I don`t think I can physically go to work on Monday even thought I planned to. I am going to go back to the docs instead and try to get it sorted once and for all. My asthma isn usually a problem, must be he swine flu.
DS has gone to his dads till tomorrow morning for the first time in 3 weeks. Instead of getting a lie in fat cat woke me at 6am for her tuna:o...better than the time DS wakes us but still........
Have managed to do a lemon and poppyseed loaf cake and a banana bread to fill tins. Having duck legs with plums and star anise(JO recipe) tonight.....OH not sure as he doesnt like meat with fruit so we shall see.
Not doing anything else today as not up to it.
Been reading my Hugh book again and have my eye on the spare ribs.
Thriftlady the pizzas look lovely, let me know how they turn out;)......also did you make the cake with the apricots and prunes etc? I was wondering if it would turn out ok with "ordinary" dried fruit....may give it a go.
bargainbird glad BIL`s prognosis seems a bit more positive.
Molly hugs, you are really going through it at the moment:o

we will be watching X factor tonight......not into strictly.

    Afternoon peeps!

Hoovering all done, kitchen thoroughly cleaned and new homes found for stuff that was lurking on the sides, ds dropped at station, kids all arrived and I've sent them all of blackberry picking for me! Bet one or more fall in the water or brambles!

Popped into Asda to grab some animal food on my way back from dropping ds, must do a proper order - got a place that delivers it and it's much cheaper, but it's just remembering it! Found a new broom for £2, people either side of me in the queue dashed off to get one as well - perhaps they're all os-ers too!

Going to make some muffins in a bit and try a couple of Gill Holcombe's recipes out and somewhere in between load and unload WM and hang it all out and fold and put away - dd3 and dd2 did their room this morn, amazingly without being nagged, but it does mean that a fortnight's worth of washing has appeared!

Just paid second installment on our bargain Haven weekend away, almost forgot as it was lost in the paperwork pile, eek! Thankfully sorted it all just in time, be nice to have a weekend away, though not till June!

Right, time to put oven on and get going! Also got some butterbeans soaking, as kids really enjoyed them in Econ Gast pork and chorizo stew, so thought I'd try them in a few other things!

Must whizz dd2 into shops to find a pressie for the girls who are having this party tonight! Hopefully can do en route to collect ds - best she thinks of something we can get in Asda!

    Afternoon all,

Nice day here, overcast but very warm...consequently there are three machine loads of washing on line, one in machine and one to go on when that's done...feel very virtuous!

Dough in bm for some rolls to go with pasta DD4 is cooking for dinner...was going to be pasta but would I turn down an offer of 'free' dinner? Not sure when dinner will be as she has gone to her apartment with DS3 so that he can plumb in washing machine, hook up cooker and level fridge/freezer and she doesn't like help when she is cooking so mince is in fridge!

Almost clocked OH earlier...asked him if he wanted light or warm socks to take to Sardinia and he said he couldn't make that decision as he wasn't sure what the weather would be like, so I should maybe just pack one of each type so that one foot would be right all the time....maybe I should let him do his own packing, he would then arrive with 10 pairs of socks and no underwear.....grrrhhh!

Have been having pains in my right leg for few days, no idea why. My Japanese friend is here this weekend so she is going to do Reiki to see if it helps later on, at present I have to go upstairs by leading with good foot and bringing other up to join it....I'm a mess but for some reason its not bothering me.

Hugs to all who have been suffering from any illness, or who have family who are ill, hello to all who have been missing in action....really miss you all.

    Have a nice weekend all

    Marie

Sarah...nice to see you back, sorry you've been having a bad time, home things improve soon

  • Hello Again

Ds is feeling much better thanx, just needs a few days to get his energy back. We went for a drive today as he has been in bed for 3 days & going stir crazy. His appetite has also increased slightly so fingers crossed.

Havnt done as much as I hoped as seemed to have pulled a muscle in my back so OH has put me on sofa rest . Am hoping to have a week soon with no trauma's or illness but cant really complain too much as there are so many worse things to worry about.

Gonna chill and wait for SCD.x
  • Hi Guys!

Well today hasnt been a total washout:D

I have just had my TMA score back from the OU and was higher than I expected as I didnt spend long on it at all, I got a full refund from Travelodge from a complaint I made a couple of weeks ago, then DD has been invited to Paris for a couple of days next month:j:j:j...think OH and I will take the opportunity to get away to our friends holiday home for a couple of nights and take the dog with us.

OH made a lovely chilli and baked spuds for dinner with Taco shells and salad. He has also cleared up the kitchen and putting up a pan rack (as I type) that we bought cheap off a friend a few weeks back. He also made a nice traybake with icing and sprinkles on top.

I am desperate to get some much needed jobs doing before the winter sets in. Toilet still needs fitting upstairs, wardrobe finished etc etc.

Anyway, I better go and see what the ceiling looks like.

  • Grrrr - blinking kids!! Do my head in!! They've managed to pull their curtains down today and completed trashed their room and DS (6) has proper attitude!! Grrrr!! Anyway, they are in bed now, have been for a while - hopefully tomorrow will be a better day or they won't be going to pictures tomorrow!!

Made a lush tea tonight - pasta carbonara and chilli/garlic prawns!! Yum - kids had HM fishfingers, chips and peas. What can I do with the three egg whites I've got left?? Any ideas??

Just watching X-Factor and chilling with a large glass of white!! Will watch Casualty in bed, snuggling with OH I think.

I can't believe he's been thinking of X**s pressies already!! Suppose it makes sense to spread the cost over the next 3 paydays but its something we've never done before - I have been banging on about our budget etc so maybe something is sinking in!!

Anyways - night all and catch you tomorrow!

Made it - 15 years married!! Finally!! xx:beer:
