My DD has a rubber-band type bangle with 'epileptic' written on one side and her medication on the other. It looks like one of those friendship bracelets (actually, it looks like one of those bands they used to give you when you went swimming). She bought it online for £2.
Today, she actually ordered more in different colours that she could choose herself (the band is one colour and the writing is another), but there was a minimum order of 7 pieces (£14). DD is 25, but they'd be a good option for youngsters.
I think she used an epilepsy website; I'll ask her for the name of the website and edit this post tomorrow.

What about those kids ID bracelets? You get a pack of 10ish in boots they fasten like festival bands that have to be cut off and have a big area to write on and no metal parts for those with allergies
The very best is sometimes what nature gives us for free.

    Hi
I need to find a braclet so that medical information can be written on a piece of paper and held in the bracelet.

Paper because her medication changes depending on her current condition.

Please can someone help. Done a google search but mainly see bling items or ones that have engraving on them. As she is not interested in a bling item and ££££ are at a premium we just need a bog standard item.

    Thanks in anticipation :o

    Hi Scaty

Just catching up on messages and read yours with interest.

I have three chronic medical conditions - one since 1990 and since then have worn an SOS Talisman Pendant.

You will be able to find a vast variety of identity accessories from www.sostalisman.co.uk which is where I got mine from. They do allsorts of stuff.

    HTH,
    Nippy.
  • I'm on Income Support and DLA. I contacted MedicAlert, told them my circumstances and I don't have to pay the annual fee. On the free bracelet it has my conditions, eg, diabetes and allergeric to penicillin. There is a phone number to call to get the list of my medications. It costs nothing to update them.

I did, last year, buy a velcro sports bracelet in pink.
  • have a look in Boots the chemist / Superdrug, or maybe even shoe repair shops- they often sell key fobs luggage tags and the like, may have something suitable?
Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..
Sometimes seen lurking on the compers forum :-)

My DD said that she bought the first one from Ebay for £2 or £3, but she hasn't been able to find any more on there so she recently ordered more from Mediband.com - she was able to choose the colours for the band plus the writing / symbols plus the name of her medication/phone number etc, but there's a minimum order of 7, so the minimum cost is £14 (they're £2 each), and a All 7 bands will be identical.
There's always the option of selling a few if you only want to keep one or two.

St John Ambulance used to sell this sort of thing. Not too sure if they still do. May be worth looking at their site. If you order direct from them, you will incur a postage charge. If you area able to find a local division near to you, you may be able to get them to order it direrctly for you. St John Supplies do not postage to their own members.

How can you sell them if they've got your information on them?
