I have recently downloaded Windows 7 Professional from my MSDN account and I have to say how impressed I am with it. I am usually anti-Microsoft so it kills me to actually say well done! anyway I opened this thread to gather any thoughts of anyone else who is using it, good or bad and any problems you have experienced, if any!

You are going to get told off by someone as there are loads of threads already
But anyhows, I like it. Using a RC since June and I have it pre-ordered for when it comes out next month.
First time using a 64-bit OS. Very snappy. A lot better than Vista.0 -
I've been using it for absolutely ages now on all of my machines and in my opinion the best operating system they've released to date.
I only have one niggle and that is the grouping on the taskbar specifically with WLM. It's a bit annoying to have multiple chat windows open how they get grouped into one, where I preferred how that particular aspect was on where they weren't grouped. Makes it harder to decide who to talk to and who to ignore for a bit when you can't see which window is flashing. Maybe that'll get looked at in a later release, or maybe I'll just do something on my own to get it the way I want it.
Apart from that it's great. Takes well to everything I've installed it on.0 -
Its what Vista should have been
I been using it for around 6 months now and its great0 -
I know I shouldn't of opened another thread but I couldn't contain my excitement! I agree with anewhope this is by far the best OS released to date. The only problem I encountered was getting a driver for my USB ports but with it being a pre-release OS you expect maybe some hardware problems also it doesn't help that I have a PC World Philips special, never again as the support is useless!
Anyway everything is working now and I am just shocked by how smooth it runs I like how if you click to open a program it doesn't need to have a think about it first, it seems to do it straight away. I also find the WLM thing on the taskbar a bit annoying, out of interest was WLM pre installed on the RC version as on the Pro version I had to download it from the WLM website? Overall I am just shocked at how well it works compared to the balls up of Vista!0 -
Nah you have to download WLM on the RC.
Does the Pro version have a good choice of aero desktop themes? Think RC just has USA,Japan, Germany, Britain and Nature, or similar.0 -
I love it too. I missed out on vista altogether, so the Aero stuff is new to me...I'm well impressed that the "search for drivers" thing actually works unlike XP and, as you say, load times are awesome.
The experience of installing the thing is just awesome, compared to XP - I did both in the same day. Honestly, getting set up on XP was at least twice as long, by the time I'd found drivers for everything installed and so on.
Can't wait for my disc to drop through the post next month0 -

There didn't seem too many themes to choose from, I have it off MSDN so is this the final version or will they add more stuff when it is officially released? as also there are no games (not that im solitare crazy!) or is this something to do with them having to strip the OS down because of other companies complaining about fair competition although Media Player still comes with the OS? and may I add Media Player works very well with my TV tuner!0
