  • What a good idea for a thread and so true.. I am waiting for the end of the month so that I can make another hit at my bills once I get paid.. Have felt like I have done nothing moneysaving these past few days but thinking about it..

Cycled to uni and back when normally I would have used a bus..
Breakfast bars from home rather than eat in the canteen.
Hunted out library books whereas previously would have bought them.
Did a shop at Asda's (sorry if I am not allowed to mention shop names) whereas previously would have been Tescoes..

Might post again when I am feeling that I am not making progress..

I had a right result today. A couple of weeks ago I thought I remembered lodging £250 with a solicitor for a proposed property sale back in either 2003 or 2005. I sent an email off asking for the balance of the account to be repaid and then promptly forgot about it. Today I received a cheque for £273.77.

Though a few other things went very badly this week and I was getting quite down, this has perked me up no end. I haven't got much but I've a little more now and can treat my daughter to some books with a clear conscience that the bills will still be paid.

£273 has never felt so good or so much.
